Mileage both in city and highway you get is quite disappointing and keeping in tradition with Hyundai petrol cars. you should get atleast 10-11kmpl in city and 15kmpl on highways if your driving with not too heavy foot.

I get 13-14kmpl ( 50% AC) in city and 18-20kmpl ( 100% AC) on highways and i drive with a heavy foot.
Thats the first one i m hearing. Petrol Accents are never known to give a good mileage and 18 to 20 on the highway with 100% AC and a heavy foot ..beats an esteem which is way lighter and for that matter even my 800 which is way way lighter.I know its not all about the weight but common 18 to 20 sounds too good to be true on a petrol accent when people are gettin the same on the accent crdi

Mine is January 2006 Its done 16500 Kms...

This weekend went to Lonavla using the Expresshighway.. Man its awesome to drive this car at 165Kmph,,, Thats the top speed i could achieve,,, drove for 2-3 mins on it.. For the rest of the time was on 140 and sometimes 120.. The car handling and manoeuvre was splendid.. ..

as for average could not check as the tank is still half full.. Covered 360Kms and the tank needle is just above the middle line..

Hope its good ;-)

Mileage: It gives only about 8-9 in city and 13 in highways with 25% AC on. The service manager told it will increase after 10k

9-10 is the in city mileage of Accent. I had a 2003 model GLS (1.6L) for 3 yrs and had run close to 30K kms and was getting 9.5 in city.

The top speed done by the car was about 150,(Didnt floor it to the max).....

Can anyone tell me any ways to increase fuel efficiency,The service engineer tells me that the car will give better mileage after 10k mark,And he told me to go for K&N to increase mileage, will this help?

good review bhat. the viva ws one contender when i settled for my FIAT Adventure. From what you have written i an guessing that you are a fast driver who liked to use the power. Maybe the F.E figures could go up with slightly sedate driving.

My accent CRDI gives 12 Kms per litre in Bangalore City. But it returns 19 to 20 on Highways. I use regular shell/Reliance diesel. On highways (Generally Bangalore - Calicut) I drive at an average speed of 100, and max speed mostly is 120. the low mileage in the city is prob because the usage is for short distances like my office is 3-4 kms from my residence. so the engine is never at optimum temperature, which you reach on driving atleast 20 Kms.

@zoomingbhat: i would suggest you to wait till you cross 10k kms.
Yes K&N filter should help, go for the stock replacement filter.

Guess he has made it clear that its a petrol Viva.

Nice pics. Not-so-common color for the Accent here, and IMO looks nice.
