H0ly Hell!! Compare it to the current condition of your Jeep and that shows the amazing effort you have put to restore it. Hats Off GTO!!

I found them here: http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/Worl...draPhotos.html

Just google "Mahindra Classic" this page is the first link on the second page of search results... Awesome lots of Jeeps, Jeeps and Jeeps...!!

Now I understand how hard you have worked to get it to the pristine condition that it shows now...Great job buddy...

Thanks guys. Yes there were many frustrating moments while rebuilding the Jeep over a 4 month duration. Parts availability, paint delay, electricals...not to mention the financials went totally over budget. I was this close to abandoning the project but a mental glimpse of the completed product made me push on.

I am glad I did. Never expected such a superb looking and absolutely reliable Jeep.

GTO

Man GTo, that a great vehicle, i just read all about it.
Not only that, you have taken it to the roads and trails where it can be done real justice
Always longer for a open top, drop shield willys since i was in school,
But was put of by the what i considered the apparent impracticality of having an Open jeep in Bombay - mainly the heat and dust,
But after reading your posts here, am again pining to own one.
Maybe in a year or so i just may think about it.
WIll be banging on your door for advice and ideas if do get there!!
Here's hoping.
And congratulations ofn a fantastic vehicle
cheers

Great review and I am jealous. I worked at Mahindra Nashik in the R&D dept. and I used to go to the assembly line everyday to admire the Mahindra Classic, which were then produced only for exports. I have always loved the Mahindra Classic and hope to get hold of one some day.

Terrific vehicle - well cared for.... why.. I find myself looking for a Mahindra Classic right now! :)

Manu

Excellant pics & write up GTO

perfect display of the off-roading capabilities of this wonderful beast.

enjoy the ride.

Cool pix and write up GTO.

I had been looking out for Classic few months back, and was extremely pissed off at the lack of its availability in the seconds market.

:(

How does one get hold of one? in Bombay or Pune

Well, they never sold too many when new so availability of used Classics was bound to be a problem. Considering that these Jeeps age fast (rust etc.) and that its been a decade since production stopped, a large number of Classics have already been scrapped.

You can try searching around but it will be very difficult to procure a running Classic now.

pretty neat writing...n one hell of a car....i had always thought that the classic would be a strict no no for cities like delhi/mumbai, each with its share of dirt, pollution and others......but hats off to u for sticking to it....

Its one of the best reviews i have read on the Mahindra CLASSIC!! (1st review i read was written by Mr. DUBE on Mouthshut.com i guess!)

As i have sent a comment before, Your classic might not have got a better owner!!

here's a snap of my baby!! hope You let me know wat you guys feel about it!!
