Lack of turbo punch after service may be due to overfilling of engine oil. Happened to me after 5k service. But not sure why service light is coming up.
Longer cranking time should be due to a weak battery. Swift diesel OEM battery is not very good and there are many users who replaced the battery before 3yrs. Mine was replaced after exactly 2yrs.

It is a Swift thing. Service light, without any other explanation, seems to mean "Change the Battery!"

My Swift battery life-expectancy experience was the same as yours. A few months is going to make little difference cost-wise: I'd suggest to mikilbhatkar to change it now, before a minor inconvenience becomes a major one.

Learnt the hard way, in the middle lane at a busy junction, in the rain, when the battery just couldn't quite get the engine going.

Noticing heavy smoke under acceleration? Get intercooler cleaning done, oil might have been spilled into it & hence sluggish acceleration. Battery seems to be weak as well, get it replaced [preferably outside of MA$$ for a better price & buy back of old battery]. Longer cranking may damage your starter motor as well.

Why did you have to change the brake pad after 20,000 kms? And what's wrong with the disc? You still are in warranty [if you have extended warranty] and try for the disc under warranty [if you have]. You might wanna try some aftermarket brake pads, heard it's got superior braking power. Guess there is a brand called "Hawk" or something.

Where did you get the servicing done? And what's the interval you follow? 45K is not a normal interval, hence asking!

My Swift's OEM Amaron Battery lasted close to 4 years. It gave symptoms before it well fully bust, but I unfortunately ignored it. Once I was at top of a bridge waiting in a nasty traffic jam & had switched off my engine. When the traffic started moving, the engine wouldn't come on. Since I was on top of the bridge, I was able to start the car by putting it on gear and releasing the clutch slowly as the car slid down the slope. However, I forgot totally about this incidence because the car started fine next time. After 2 weeks, the car didn't start - I was 15 kms from home. I had to call the Exide guys & wait for 1/2 hour & they helped me start the car, so I could drive it to the nearest battery shop & change the batteries.

I give it to indus. I follow 5k interval though it is not recommended by maruti.

I dint know know. I personally checked the pads and it is on its last stage. well blame my hard braking and ripping. i was quite sedate driver in the beginning when i got the car. :D Car is out of warranty now. even extended warranty has gone too. SA was telling me that there is a few lines on DISC and to use the new brake pads we have to cut or align the disc by 0.1mm. OR replace the entire DISC.
I haven't heard about HAWK brake pads. any idea where can we get it ?

Am facing an issue with my car and would like to have your inputs on it.

My Dzire VDi has completed 50,000 Kms and I got the 50K service done. Apart from the normal service, caliper greasing was done as there was some sound coming from them and some play was noticed.
In approx 500 Kms post the service i.e. 50,500 Kms the sound started coming again. It was again diagnosed to the calipers and this time the Caliper pins were changed under warranty.
Its 51,500 Kms now and the same sound has started again. It is like a small rumbling sound from the front of the car. Also checked the bumpers if it is loose ( as I had the intercooler cleaned recently and the bumper is removed to access it ) but the bumper looks to be bolted tight.

It is also not the tires for sure. Can it be something else apart from the Calipers?

Guys,

Some advice today the check engine light came on after starting. Switched off the engine cranked it again but the light did not come on again.

Any ideas... Planning to take the car to Vitesse for a check up just in case.

I had a similar problem although the sound primarily came when the car was going on a slightly rough road surface. The sound would stop as soon as I pressed the brakes. It turned out to be the front brake pads which were not tightened enough. The service advisor said its a fairly common fault in the swift. The play was noticeable even if you tried to move the calipers with your hands once the tyre is off.

Use the silicone grease, it will keep the sound under control for almost 4k kms. No amount tightening helped in my car and Mandovi, at last service used this "special grease" to resolve the issue.

Snowie is touching 60k kms and still on original pads and am not at all ok with braking these days (not confidence inspiring), i think ill insist on a change. Last 3-4 times the SA pushed it to next service, no more!

Same in my case. I can hear it more on a rough road. Will check the brake piece on the way back today.

Exactly my problem. I had the calipers greased at 30K, 35K, 40K and now 50K. As the problem resurfaced within 500 Kms of my 50K service in which the calipers had been greased and looking at my caliper greasing history, they changed the caliper pins under warranty ( which they said was generally not covered under warranty) and packed it with silicon grease this time but the sound is back again within 1000 Kms :Frustrati

I am curently on 52K Kms and on originial pads and touch wood, they are still good.

No pin change also was done, but the sound seems to have gone for almost 4k kms. Only recently its has started to come back, but still very faint. I have also been not so forgiving thrashing the car around in the broken patches near to my house and might have been a contributing factor.

After the pickup issue post the 40k servicing, I gave the car back to the service center. They somehow fixed the issue gave the car back to me. It worked well for 5-6 days, and the issue resurfaced (The service light turning on and the car not picking up speed in the 3, 4 and 5th gear). I doubted the battery and changed it, but in vain. I took it back to service center, on checking the error codes, it pointed to the fuel injectors. The service advisor suggested servicing the fuel injector nozzles. This servicing was done by some workshop in Vashi, got the car back on the second day. The bill was ~5k, 3.5k for the nozzle servicing and 1.5k for labor. The SA also recommended changing the fuel station.

More than 15 days since I got the car back, it has been running good so far.

He quoted me 4500/- for Hawk HPS Break Pads. and it is OEM direct fit. wont require any other modification.
So what is the cost of OEM maruti brake pads ? i guess it was around 1800 when i replaced it last time. Has anyone on forum tried this Hawk ? is it really worth to spend 4500/- ? PJspeed assured me that you will get far better braking than OEM one.
Need views on it.

Hi , i usually service my swift @ CARS India and today i got a call from ABT Maruti asking to take us a offer for around 3500(Guess) for which they give me wheel alignment ,Free pick up drop,balancing ,oil top up ect as free and 50% off on labour for all service but didnt mention how long.

When i said i am happy with CARS and they also offer free pick up and drop ,the caller told the hence forth the pick us n drop is going to charged @ 150 and service cost is also going up.

Is this true? did anyone hear this anywhere?
