Sound from front wheel may be because of worn out ball joints/bushes. Check them and replace. It does not cost much. About 2k at the max.

For steering you may have to overhaul it. It happened with my Swift as well at 70k. AT MASS it costs about 5k. Usually re-greasing solves the problem. When you do steering overhaul make sure you do alignment (even though it's bit expensive at MASS) as well from them so that all the issues get sorted out then and there itself. In my case they messed up with alignment while doing this job and it took 1 more day to correct it.

I too hear the "dub dub" sound from my 56k run Vdi. Initially i thought it came from back suspension. But when I showed to MASS, the SA said it is due to worn out ball joint and bushes in front suspension. They said the total cost might come around Rs3k including labour. said MASS is Hi-Tech service station, Near Ulloor, TVM. They are sought of guys who know their job and don't push unwanted work. Will do the work this week.

I think I've said this in a response to an earlier question as well - try pressing the brakes while going over a rough patch (i.e. when you hear the "kat kat". If the sound goes away on braking, it means that the calliper assembly nut is loose - get it tightened. I faced a similar irritant a year ago and after that was done, all should be good. If this is not the case, you will have to get the steering joint, suspension and wheel bearings checked to find out exactly where the issue is.

Guys- need an urgent help.
My dzire ddis has done 60k and recently did regular 60 k service with low ac cooling problem. After basic ac service, went for proper ac service- cooling coil clean, gas recharge etc at Maruti dealer, but cooling is still less. Cools ok during morning or evening but not in day. Now SAis advising replacing expansion valve and retrying. If that doesn't work,he is suggesting going for compressor change which will cost 22k!! Isnt there a way to get this repaired or second opinion.the work is going on at pasco udyog vihar gurgaon.
Any thing else I can check that can avoid getting a 25k hit?
Thanks..

Please check with an aftermarket AC specialist. They will really drill down to the root cause and suggest you actual repair / replacement.

A/C problem at 60K?!! Mine is at 90K kms and bloody thing chills my bone in no time. I would have done atleast 80K kms in A/C in those total kms.

+1 to SnF.

Take a second opinion from another MASS and a third opinion from the A/C specialists for the 'real problem.

Just a wild guess could this problem be due to the absence of cabin air filter?

Can't be! Mine doesn't have a cabin filter. I kind of feel there could be a leakage somewhere?

Find independent AC specialist workshop in your region. Do a check of the grill temperature, that will give you an idea of the cooling and then prod further. I had checked about compressor price, OE brand compressors for swift range between 13-15k outside, so procuring it outside will be cheaper even in worst case scenario.

I never had a cabin filter but in this service at 60K, MASS put in a new one

Thanks SnF, Anuraga nd Jaggu.
Today I will come to know if expansion valve solved the problem or not. If it does not, I will probably take the car back from MASS as suggested by you, and seek outside opinion if compressor replacement is really required.

Does any one know of a recommended aftermarket ac specialist in Gurgaon or Delhi ? thanks..

Got the car back. I am told that compressor is the culprit. Changing Expansion valve did not work, put the old one back in. I have taken the car back and now intend to seek 2nd opinion. Any recommendations in Gurgaon/Delhi? TIA

Try contacting the MGP dealer in your city and order the compressor so that you can fit it at a FNG or go to a A/C specialist, he'll help you out with the procurement of the same.

Along with @Anurag's suggestion, I would request you to put some effort and find out the rates from couple of dealers (MA$$ & aftermarket) including an FNG on procurement + installation charges and pick the lowest.

I had a bitter experience with an MGP dealer where they charged the parts more than the MA$$ was charging. So checking in advance will help you save some $$$.

Overhauled the front suspension.

Total cost was Rs 5473.00. Details are Labour charge 1850, Ball joint assy 1250, Tie rod end 785, MountBush 70, Joint comp 910, Service tax 228, Alignment 380.

The sound is gone and suspension has become smooth. But I feel that 56K KM is early for a suspension overhaul.

Suspension life is basing odometer reading is difficult buddy.

It depends on the following:
  1. The car is handled + driven over bad roads,
  2. driving style
  3. Tyre pressures

I had my Ritz VDi where I drove it for 1.1 lakh kms in 3 years over mixed set of roads but never had any kind of suspension overhaul. I am not saying anything about your car or your driving style. Just my opinion.

Anurag.
