Overall even i am happy with my Aveo except the front suspension arms (or dont know what) which tend to make aching noise on potholed or lets say going up and down the ramp while parking the car in / out of the house.

I got these struts replaced under warranty at 5000 kms but now again (clocked 15000) they are making noise.

Is it only my Aveo or some general issue with Aveo ?

Hey Dude! Doing that since the last 2 years in my Dad's Merc. But i can bet a million that this car rocks.

By the way the diff. in pricing is abt 20 odd Lacs. So, when i will start earning no mercs for me, coz they suck. Preference wud be a BMW.

Diff. Ppl diff. perception.

Hi Guys. Another Aveo....another review. Nice to read all this...must post some of my comments too. Anyway, I would like to as you all about the second free service (the one reaching 5000 km). Any idea what's the approx cost for doing this? What all things would be done? Replies would be highly appreciated.

And another thing.....those silver plactic lining or something on the 4 door grips. I noticed two things about them. One, the color fades after a while. 2, it makes a creaking sound when I grip it hard or twist it or even if any of the passengers lean thier leg on it. Kind of irritating.
Anyone faced this issue? Can we complain the same to the GM guys?

The new tyres should be fitted on to the front wheels in case of a front wheel drive vehicle.

And to the rear wheels in case of a rear wheel drive.

Dude, facing the same issue. Yep, when smebody keeps a leg on the the(whatever u call it) arm rest. , it does make a squeaking noise.
Pretty irritating. Will definitely give a call to the Service cEntre.

For the second service, the labor is free.
The Engine oil is replaced
& maybe the Air Filter too!

Total Cost: Rs. 700(appx.)

Hi Varun and Rosh !!

Dont panic just live with it ........... those silver touch material on the arm rests is an irritating fitment. I mean there are better ways of doing it as in other cars and surprised that nothing has been done about it in the newer version.

I confirmed with my dealership and GMI person also thats a design flaw.

Otherwise how r ur aveos running ?

PM that ways its easier.

Cheers .........

Few questions : how far(in kms) people have taken there Aveo's?
1) do anybody felt stressed out ?
2) how aveo handled bad roads? (if any)
3) at high speeds --did you felt you are flying a fighter jet?
4) most memorable moment with your aveo?
5) do you believe talking to to your own car ?

Hi All,

I have been looking at the AVEO and still yet to decide which one to go for the 1.4 Limited edition or 1.6 with option pack??, color would be black, there are lots of threads on the AVEO in the intial test drive and long term ownership experience, but one thing that i have noticed is everyone seem's to be worried about the saftey factor. lots of them have hinted that its not all that safe car...espically with the Glove Box when opened, is almost on your lap and by chance you hard break u tend to hit the steering wheel as there was a link in one of the posts where european saftey board has rated the AVEO 1.5 out of 5 stars in terms of saftey and there is a link to read the full review.

Can somebody also tell me about the gap in the engine lot of ppl have noticed that there is a huge space or call it gap in the engine bay.

One of the Auto magazines, cant recall was it Autocar or Ovredrive...showed a pic of all new AVEO with new headlamp design similar to SX4 and all new Audi inspired front grill with huge chevy logo in middel which looked cool and macho to be launced in early 2009, does anyone kow if this would be comming to india?? if it is then i could wait for it. Can someone check with GM on this?

Please do let me know, thanks a lot guys... i would say instead of reading autocar or overdrive mag's ppl should check oout Team-bhp site, as you guys give out accurate reviews 1000 times better than the car mag's.

Regards,
Sajan

Shan,
That seems to be a very good offer. How much discount you got all together?
I have taken Aveo1.4 base model from Sundaram on Nov 2nd. My OTR was 6.67 for a base model. For LS @ 6.64 lacs seems to be a good offer. Hope you are also taking the vehicle from Sundaram, Bangalore.
Make sure that you are getting new series of Aveo.

Hey Kavu75
Showroom price for Aveo 1.4 LS is INR 6,60,000 and on Road it's around INR 7,04,000

But I get it for (On Road) 6,64,000 (40K less which includes corporate discounts and some year end discounts) and yes the offer is from Sundaram Motors.

Hi Shan,
If Ex showroom price is 6,60,000 then on road at Bangalore will be more than 7.4 lacs with out any discount.
This case you are getting around 80K discount(40K corporate and another 40K year end offer). 6.64 lacs is a good price for Aveo LS.
But make sure you are getting new Aveo, not from any old stock.

Aveo 5000kms Service

Hello,

I am giving my Aveo at Sundaram this Saturday for 5K service. No issues at all with the car. Will go for engine oil change and oil filter change.

1. Going through the threads I feel I neednt go for synthetic oil at 5k. Is this right?
2. Also are there any branded oil filters I should look for?
3. Would it be ideal to change the the air filter to K&N now?
