Don't know when they started this excercise, My car may have gone in later than you, or possibly they look out for a defect on account of this part. Or maybe it was defective in only the very first lot of Laura (dec 2005) as in my case, but was corrected later in 2006. Not really aware what were the conditions under which they do this replacement since I had not visited the service centre and the car was picked up and dropped and the questions asked by me were answered by the JMD Driver who did the pick up and drop. rather than a SA.

Bye Bye Laura

The new owner of Laura 8989 took delivery yesterday.

These are some last snaps of the Laura in it's last month.

It wasn't exactly a tension free vehicle at all times, but one fell absolutely in love every time one had a drive i.e. after getting it all in order.

The car left me with absolutely everything working. Even the suspension, tyres and brakes were in good condition.

Some of the snaps were take at a detailers place and some at my home a few days later.

It was at about 93,500 kms.

ACM, did you get your front right fender painted at some point? Asking because it seems to be a slightly different shade of color from the rest of the car.

Yep rightly spotted. brush with a two wheeler going the wrong way with 3 adults seated. Was done at the authorized centre under insurance claim but they got the colour a bit wrong.

Re: Bye Bye Laura

ACM. I plan to buy a Skoda Laura 2009 1.9 TDI AT. The car has run 56k km and looks and feels good. Can you give me your feedback on the running and maintenance costs? Will I have to incur any sudden maintenance costs apart from the regular ones? Need to make a quick decision. Your feedback can help me with that as I see you have a weel maintained car. Thanks

it will depend on the condition of the vehicle. Ac compressor for Rs. 40k, Turbo for Rs. 80k and
DSG AT mecatronic unit for 1.4L need to be factored for. These are outside garage rates. official rates would be about 30% higher. I believe min 1 if not 2:of these failures would be looking likely in next 50 k kms. Plus at least one more failure like throttle body or EGR are also likely in that period.
