To Nathula and Back
My dzire has completed 33333 KM and how. Was being bogged down in computers and was murmuring every night the phrase "Reclaim your life". Called my friend from gurgaon and all set. My friend with his wife arrived to kolkata on 14th May, and me, my wife and them all four started for Sikkim on 16th.
Arranged for a extra spare wheel (used steel rim and used tire all for Rs500) and straight 10 hour drive to Siliguri (total 595 KM), a small refreshment stop in a COCO petrol pump on NH31 50 KM before Siliguri and refuelling clocking 17.89 KMPL and then to the hill. Friend taking the wheel over and to Reshi via Kalimpong.
A nice stay in Reshi eco resort later, next day to Zuluk at 9250ft. And continue drive till baba mandir at 13500 ft, sharing nice but narrow roads with gypsies and army (VFJ) trucks. And guys even at rarified atmosphere, the turbo though kicking in 3000 RPM instead of 1800-2000 as in Kolkata, till proving to be a grin bringer. A comfortable stay in Zuluk after a nice dinner with changi. Next day drive through clouds till Nathula and then drive on noroad (yes it's not typo) till gangtok bypassing indo tibet border, silk route, famous Axis bank atm at 13200 FT, through snow and land slide bitten skeleton of the roads. Fall in love with Dzire all over again. Next day straight drive to kolkata (750 KM continuous drive with refuel in siliguri). Dzire gave 14.3 KMPL in hill and 20 KMPL in siliguri to kolkata. It has passed through heavy rain, snow, offroad that a 2wd can pass through and in total lost one mud flap and that's it.
After reaching kolkata gave the car to MASS for a wash and one horn caught to be faulty, replaced under warranty, MASS gave a free wash and replaced the mudflap and all for FOC.
Woould I ever buy any car from any company other than Maruti atleast in India?
Now pics

Seems a very good idea. Let me work on that. By the way, I am planning to take the dzire for Kolkata-Leh-Kolkata trip. Can anybody give any suggestion if that's a good idea. I mean can dzire go upto leh, considering the road condition, if the GC will be enough.

40K service nearing.
Hi bhpians, my car is nearing 40K service by end of this month. How much does it cost normally for dzire diesel. Some of my frinds are saying that they know dzire diesel 40K service(normal as the car is not having any particular problem) cost a lot.

fantastic. I had been to sikkim and all the various La's in 1995. it is an awesome place. Your d'zire came out tops. BTW Those are not the OE alloys of a ZDI? look good. the stickers on the side give the car an unique look.

Thanks goandude. Yes they are indeed OE alloys of a ZDI. I am happy that you liked the stickers, actually that's the first accessory we had put on our car. And that is one of the few things both me and my wife liked together without a bit of discussion.

This 7 spoke is what I have been seeing on Swifts. Is Dzire OEs alloys different?

Yes swift/dzire ZXI alloys are 7 spoke and dzire ZDI alloys are 5 spoke. As swift doesn't have ZDI version so these alloys are unique to dzire.

The pic shown by you is of the alloys in Type1 Swift. The Type2 ZXi version on sale now comes with the same alloys as the Dzire.
