Hi Santosh,
> WORST till date :( so the official worst till date in city is 14...
Use it for my town runs to get the worst mileage - 11.5 to 12 kpl!
The town / city runs will be getting worse mileages with the increasing congestion!

tell me about it!! And I am also confused to take the call whether to Dump Premium diesel and stick to regular - coz premium isnt available every where. And also - If i change to regular, and Oil Companies decide to Sell only Premium!!! I HAVE to use Additives when using Regular - and I have been told not to mix additives and Premium - I am lost, Please advise.
Hi santosh,
> I HAVE to use Additives when using Regular - and I have been told not to > mix additives and Premium - I am lost, Please advise.
Let me see whether I can confuse you further!
The initial 25000+ kms of my Marina was all on regular diesel. I have never added 'additives' when using regular diesel. After a discussion in the Yahoo Indica group (and since the premium dieel was only about 40p costlier) shifted to it. Since basically the vehicle gets its fule in the same pump, it has not been an issue.
Since I don't use additional additives, it is easier to switch between premium and regular if needed.
When you are in a town with criss cross streets, a junction every 200 to 300 metres, narrow roads and unruly traffic fuel efficiency is not something to be looked forward to!
Again don't mix additives and premium on a regualr basis, that's all!
Never found much of mileage difference between the tow diesels.

somehow I agree to you on that point, also - NOTE - I am seeing LESSER SMOKE during high revs on REGULAR diesel... can anyone discuss on this point?
---OT - Rajesh - I am coming to Kollam 1st week sep---
Hi Santosh,
---OT - Rajesh - I am coming to Kollam 1st week sep
It is raining quite heavily for the past week. Road surface deterioration is happening in the Ernakulam - Alleppey area.
> ok, so the engine power does make a BIG diff, i wonder if it really drains
> the battery that much..
If the engine power makes a big difference, I feel it should be draining the battery more.
> so is it advisable to invest 1500Rs in the AutoCop relay for auto closing the
> windows while remote locking (if any/all window is down?)
The money definitely would not be a waste. If you do end up having windows open when you lock the car, it is a good idea.
I am the wrong person to give you an opinion on that!
rains are welcome considering the 4-6 hours powercut :(
battery- yes, i am sure its draining a lot more if pwr wind is used in engine off condition.
hopefully 1st week of Sep is FAR away for the rains to stop...
i will get the relay installed next week.
ok - now brave enough to see top speeds...
I did 140 yesterday morning on hosur-krishnagiri GQ, had lot more oomph left in her, but did not want to scare parents. So let her ease off...
anyone tried top wack in this 1.4 TDI engine? does it go beyond 150?
The 1.4 Turbo(without intercooler) does 145 on the speedo. So TDi should be able to touch 150 on speedo
I remember Aashay_tc ( he has a DLX turbo) hit 175. he even took a pic to prove it :D

I've done 155+ in my Indica Turbo DLG while my friend overtook me in his V2 turbo DLX at around 170kmph. I was on stock tires and it was scary. And i've personally gone with him at speed around ~175kmph.( its running on 14" League wheels and 185/60R14 michelin rubber.)
Ok guys - weekend gone, no time to speed test, I will do it some other time.
Other pressing issues - I spend lot of my time on the mobile, say occupational hazard. So I need the 'lighter point' badly... Remember while getting the gear lock, the fitters forgot to plug the cigarette lighter point wires back, so it was not working. Went to True Sai works - hosur (the dealer) and after waiting for 20 mins, got hold of someone and got it fixed.
Also, the boot-light was not working for last few weeks. Got that fixed too... was some earthing issue. (both work done for free).
Also got the 1st PAID water wash (earlier was with free service), done at my MASS - yes, same place where I am used to regds to my Alto. Just told them NOT open the hood, and clean everything else - just worried to get a warranty claim rejected incase they screw it up. Also got the front wheel alignment checked with the MASS guys.
----------Question------------
Indigo, and other sedan owners - is it true that all cars above the size of a hatchback needs REAR WHEEL alignment too? MASS told me so, also checked with the TATA dealer - they too said its needed - but only once in 10K or service interval.. Please advise on rear wheel alignment too...
Hi Santosh,

Yes. It is needed.
Check this. This was in reply to an Indica question.
Yahoo! Groups
svsantosh, can you please confirm if your car comes with rear fog lamps as OEM?
