Pick that piece, its a bargain. Spares are not a problem. Maruti is good in this respect and pricing is also very good. As a thumb rule I would say price of similar part in swift/sx4 in to two at most.
@jaggy: Odo is just past 175k km. Definitely in last two years there has been slow down in using this as in interim i drove another GV, a Fortuner, a i20, a swift and a lot of THAR. If only GV had been used the cumulative would have been ~300k+
That's a great deal. If I get a deal like that in Bangalore I will sell my SX4 and buy a GV. Same fuel efficiency.
@ sudev: I haven't kept track, but seems your garage has expanded :-)

Slight "hum" from differential at constant 120kmph speeds. Disappears when de-accelerating. Looks like diff needs a oil change and may be more.
Wipers are lousy. Even after market Bosch have disappointed. |
The hum from the differential cannot be done away with . You have to live with it ; it is due to wear.
On the wiper blades, you can try Rain-X - the best blades I have used so far.

How does the Fortuner fare in comparison to the Grand Vitara? Does it have that tight feeling in the interiors? How much of a beating has the suspension taken?
A short comparison of the Grand Vitara, Fortuner and Thar would be highly appreciated by fellow members.please:
@Samurai : 230000 or there abouts.
@dean5545 : That is a tall order. First off Thar does not come in to play in terms of comfort and build. Thar is a playful off roader but does not offer comfort or build quality of SUV's
You should read Fortuner and Vitara ownership threads for making your own comparison

Agreed that the THAR is not comparable. However as you have used both GV & Fortuner extensively pls. clarify on the following 2 main points:-
1. Driving ergonomics of both the vehicles
2. Ride quality comfort for driving long stretches on 4-lane highways & on standard state roads.
Thanks.
Have driven Thar also extensively... 8-)
Thar is fun to do off roading short stretches. It is a compromise between hard core off roading but softer vehicle that is also capable of highway travel.
1. GV will leave you less tired
2. Fortuner has softer suspension and so highway drives are more comfortable. GV suspension is stiffer making it a good handler.

Which model of Bosch wipers are these?
I could only find the
conventional type on ebay. GV uses the 19" like Scorpio.
But I want
Bosch 4819 Evolution All-Season Bracketless Wiper Blade, which is highly rated on Amazon.
Where can I get these in India?
The Bosch Wipers which I get from Tata Authorized workshop work very well. If you see my snow drive etc., dashcam videos, you will see, that even though they are over a year old, they work really well.
What's the problem with standard OEM GV wipers from Maruti?
Why are you looking for alternatives?

Sir,
These are easily available with Bosch spare stockists.
I recently got a pair for the Scorpio and they are way better than stock one's.Got them for 850 bucks for a pair.
One of the reasons why good wiper blades act crappy is because of bad windshields. Scratched windshield(even minor ones) will not allow wipers to wipe water completely and some water remains. A nice windshield polish will do a good job in restoring back the super wiper operation.

Never been happy with OE replacements. I have to deal with lots of coastal rain.
