The alloys/car colour compliment each other really well!

I found the car to be pretty noisy in the TD - maybe using Noise Kill in your doors would help?

RPM's:-

On precautionory measures, Was following my own heart of not touching the upper rev limits. However have clocked upto 2800 rpms on few ocassions. As the machine has done 2500 kms now, will start revving it much higher.

Insurance:-

I myself has a agency from Bajaj, so got it done from their.

Normally it takes around 7 -10 working days for policy to be delivered, don't know why there is so much delay.

Check whether they got right postal adress in your records

RC:-

Smart takes around a month to be received, however you receive a RTO slip on the spot at registration time.

hi all,
I dont know whether I am OT... but still would go ahead....
Ok, after all the review raeding, I am posting here as a new TBHPian... I am planning to buy a new car, and zeroed in on Ford IKON TDCI... (after much of comparisons with taking the risk with the A.S.S and so called high maintainance stuff). The OTR in BLR is 6.25L and since I work for BOSCH, the Metro Ford guys (Palace cross road) say, I will get it at 5.89L OTR. Since the car does not come with a ICE, I am planning to install one with a budget of 10K, and get alloys fitted as well.

Anybody here(the GURUs), can help me out with ICE part and the upgrades in terms of alloys and tyres?? what might be the cost for alloys and tyre upgrades???

sorry again if i am OT

Vinny, you can find details regarding the correct tyre upsize and alloys in both this thread as well as Condor's long term report on the Ikon TDCi. Do check them out.

Ice

Hi Catch Vinny, I just bought IKON TDCI a month ago, installed the following configuration as my budget was similar. All prices are from Greay.

HU - Pioneer DEH-3190UB - INR 6200
Rear Speakers - JBL GTO938 - INR 3200
Front speakers ( doors ) -Sony Xplod XS-GTF13252 ( wanted to install JBL in the front as well but the 4" JBL didn't fit in properly and Sony ones were the only which wre fitting perfectly.) - INR 1500

Had Pioneer 6388 speakers in my previous car and was very satisfied with them but JBL GTO 938 are in a different league.

@Diesed / or GURUs

My cousing has a verna, which has factory installed kenwood. I really love the sound quality of the same. Its a two din though. So, just for the suggestions, can anyone advice on installing kenwood HU and kenwood speakers? (well, please spare me if I sound like a dumb.. coz I really am in terms of ICE... but will surely enlighten myself by sticking aroung at TBHP)

Post this in the Ask the Gurus thread under the ICE section.

S_budhiraj - Is the first service over?

Dieseled, which model JBL did you try? Is 4" the max that can be fitted on the door? I didnt observe where the stock front speaker locations are. Is there one on the door and one on the dash?

The stock locations for the speakers in the front are on the front doors. No available space on the dash.

Don't remember the exact model for the front ones, I can surely get back to you on the weekend as will be visiting that particular accessory shop for the sun film.

The problem I faces was that the fronyt door has provision for only 4" speakers but it's slightly bigger than 4 " , that was the reason JBLs didnt fit in and I had no other choice than Sony as Pioneer ones didn't fit in as well.
