re: Cara Mia Fiat Linea! EDIT: 71,700 km and sold!

I know that was an unfortunate incident. Do post some pictures of the car after replacing the windshield. Also, did they have the stock readily available?

Here are some photographs after changing the windshield. One change I noticed is, the dots and scratches accumulated over 3 years are all gone resulting in better visibility during the night-driving. My wife also felt the same!

No. The franchisee placed order with Windshield Experts over phone and they supplied it from their godown within one hour, while I waited with my Linea there.

only a lucky few get the opportunity to visit the birthplace of their car
You are double lucky to be part of it two times.

Now that the windshield has better visibility, are we going to get a new travelogue?

BTW Nice work with the number plate

re: Cara Mia Fiat Linea! EDIT: 71,700 km and sold!

Was there much difference in price when compared with the A.S.S regarding the windshield?

Not much. I read in various automobile fora that price quoted by Windshield Experts [WE] and the authorised service station is, more or less, the same. The cost being more or less equal, the main reasons for my preference of WE were their workmanship and proximity.

My Linea's Bangalore-Chennai-Bangalore Trips

Nowadays, my Linea shuttles between Bangalore and Chennai frequently. Here are the vital statistics of the last few trips. All these trips were driven on NH 4 via Kolar/Chittoor during the night reaching the destination at the small hours of the day.

re: Cara Mia Fiat Linea! EDIT: 71,700 km and sold!

Recently, I cleaned the rear logo and monogram using cotton bud, windshield cleaning soapy solution and water. Since the alphabets are not interlinked, I did not try to apply the cotton bud in the minute gaps so as to avoid peeling off of the alphabets. I dipped the cotton bud in the windshield cleaning soapy solution, cleaned the area around the alphabets wherever the cotton bud had clear access and washed with water. Except the gum mark, all the dirt has gone.

BEFORE CLEANING

AFTER CLEANING

The cotton bud took all the accumulated dirt.

Another Chennai - Bangalore Trip Non-Stop, Well Almost!

Cara Mia FIAT Linea brought us safely and comfortably to our Bangalore Basaveswara Nagar home at 4:02 am today. We left our Chennai Royapettah home last night at 10:06 pm.

This time, I took Cathedral Road>Kodambakkam High Road>Arcot Road>Porur route instead of Guindy Kathipara Junction route that I was taking earlier. The Arcot Road route was the shortest for my home by a few km. As usual, I drove through Poonamallee and Mulabagilu towns via Chittoor and Kolar - my favourite route.

I did not take any break during this trip. However, the gate was closed for about 15 minutes at the railway level-crossing at Nangamangalam, Andhra Pradesh near Tamil Nadu border.

There was heavy traffic all along the route upto Poonamallee. Sand lorries ruled the roost from Mulabagilu to Bangalore showering sand on the other road-users.

Road-widening [4-laning] works have started from AP-KA border upto Mulabagilu without causing any disturbance to the traffic on the existing 2-lane NH 4.

My Linea displayed these statistics:

But, my MapMyIndia Lx130 differs with my Linea!

Tow Strap For Cara Mia Fiat Linea

Yesterday, I walked to Reliance Autozone, Basaveswara Nagar to buy My Shaldan, car freshener for my Linea, but ended up buying a tow strap too. My Linea managed 3 Himalayan trips so far without a tow strap. Since, it was available at a discounted price of Name: rupeesymbol.gif
Views: 1502
Size: 578 Bytes585 [original MRP: Name: rupeesymbol.gif
Views: 1502
Size: 578 Bytes780], I decided to buy it as my Linea will have many more Himalayan trips in future.

Been a quiet follower of your thread for a long time now sir. Its astonishing to see the amount of energy you carry and the efforts you take to maintain your car so well. Honestly, I still don't know how you managed to do Lahaul/Spiti. Your courage and determination is unbelievable. Wish you miles and miles of happiness with the beauty.
