tata indica vista long term ownership review at 26925km

Hi all, last september i got my vista quadrajet aura and i was one amoung the few who got the car in coimbatore from the first batch delivery from tata.i have done first four services(1st at 1k,2nd at 5k,3rd at 9k and 4th 18k) now i'm waiting for the next service and will post about it once i hv done it.They have changed the oil at 9k for the first time and i have asked them to flush and change oil.

I am very pleased to say that my car never forced me to go to garage other than services and yes as a family hatch i rate this car very much. But for some wheel spinning drive!! a big no for this car (even i have changed to alloys and michellin 185/65 R14).BRAKING never gives confidence at all.

ice-i have changed 4 speakers to jbl and a single channel amp of kenwood and jbl sub.head unit remained same due to light vallet otherwise one must change it to get the best for ears.

i'm getting only 14 to 15km/ltr in town and 17 to 18km/ltr on highways.
planning to fit petes box, green filter and a set of 205/55 R14 (don't know weather that size is available otherwise potenza's 195/65 R14 will do)
will update later..regards to all

Right now, we have a lot of vista pics, but the bill details would be more essential. I dont think many have covered as much mileage as you, so if you have kept the bill with you, posting the bill details would be very helpful to people planning to buy the car and wondering about the maintenance costs

bhunu, thanks for posting the bill details. the bardahl stuff is entirely avoidable, and next time, ask them not to add any such stuff without your permission. Tata recommends that such flush/additives be used only if required, and they are certainly not needed on a new engine. If they still do so, you can probably complain to tata during the feedback call and get your money back

thats around 1k worth of avoidable expense

Dude in one year you have clocked 25K. In this range i think you will exhaust the whole engine within 3-4 years. Are you eating kms for your food????

Will you please clarify above 2 points.

1. Tyre size 185/65 R14 does it not foul with the suspension or any other part?
2. Is the braking so poor?
Thanks
Kiran

I dont think so. I am running on 195/60/R14 . No problem what so ever in suspension or any other part.

The braking is not very good . But it always stops in a straight line. No swaying while emergency breaking (atleast for me ) . but it takes a while to stop .

yes baburaj it always brakes in a straight line but the 'feel' and the time taking for stand still even from 80km is not giving any confidence.

yes kiran babu is correct no problem untill now for susupension or alike and by next 5k or so i may opt for 205/55/R14 or potenza 195/60/R14.
regards

hey shishir...i have given rest to vista for the last few months by not taking it to my highway runs otherwise it would have clocked 40k.(because i have done my 18k service on dec 2008 and mine was the first vista which got oil changed in taffe-as per my service adviser) and i have just clocked 10k in the last 11months taken only for dropping and picking my little schumy from school and for shopping. i do have an accent which is running smoothly even after 100k and a good old indica which had clocked 90k.regards
