Its been exactly two years since my post of taking delivery of the car.

First a quick Status report - (all K denotes kms)
Current ODO - 37200
Services - All major and minor at Sai Service
Part Repairs - None (except the horn which all of a sudden turned into a single peeep sometimes, rectified by Sai service FOC)
Major Service - AC Service done @ 20K
ALL Oil Changes @ 5k , 19k and Now at 36K
Wheel alignment and balancing @ all services (average every 10k )
Brake caliper cleaning @ all services
Nitrogen in wheels @ all services

This time i opted for MOBIL 1 synthetic , yet to determine any incremental change in driving and mileage.

Addons - Engine Waxing @ 1k and rewaxing now @ 36k
Teflon - on body @ 1k and One free service @ around 25k
Underbody antirust - @ 1k
Glass tints done post delivery


In car -
New seat covers post delivery,
No new ICE, the stock unit is fine and good enough for my use (good speakers and sound quality is good)
Added a rear view Cam (which was broken by an impact by a errant auto who bumped into the car, thankfully no dent or damage but he aimed directly at the cam)
Added a ARM Rest - @ 1200 rupees
Added a seat cooling @ 1900 bucks (working fine - cools ur back in long drives)
Lamination on the floor including the boot - keeps the car clean and tidy
Car Exteriors - Dents / Scratches
1] Rear Right side door & Nose of the Bonnet - Scratch by a kiddo riding a bicycle in STILT parking ( i wish i could do something abt the kids yaar !!)
2] small crack on the windscreen - a very small crack caused by a stone which flew from i dunno where on NH8
3] Left Bumper - small blackish remains of a auto scratching
Overall No crash or accidents

Current Ride
Pleasure is the same as a new car. Driving in city traffic is a breeze. But the fun is on the highway. Must say even with a 3 cylinder 996 cc engine, this baby can run away like crazy. The best part is the ability to stay on course at turns with almost no body roll.. unless u are tooo fast.

ABS has been a boon even in mumbai , now with flyovers on the highways and people changing lanes as if they undergo mood swings. i strongly recommend ABS

Fuel consumption in city has been average 13.6 to 14
on the highway its been around 17 (sometimes less.. as i cannot stay away from pounding the pedal)

I will be posting the latest pics too of the star.
Overall experience is a FUN TO DRIVE & OWN. Very low cost of ownership (yes the cost of service is a bit high in my opinion, but considering now other costs involved as of now - its definitely worth it )

BTW i also have a XYLO E8 and recently purchased a second hand Ford Fiesta petrol ZXi

I am so tempted to go in for ALLOYS now and give the car a two year old bday gift, but am confused which ones.

Engine waxing is a treatment which MASS suggested, these treatment makes the engine, wiring , hose and pipes resistant to mice and dust.
and makes the engine bay a lot clean too

Will post pics of the arm rest and seat cooler too (will explain in detail with the pics)

From where did you purchase Arm rest, or did you get it fabricated? What was the cost.

Hi I purchased the ARM rest from a local car accessory shop on Borivali link Road (11 echos) Its a nice piece, with a strong metal base and a slider mechanism to move forward and back. It has a cup holder and storage below the hood. Sturdy and can take the weight of ur hand. Pics coming soon

hi, Whats the seat cooler??? Sorry not seen one. Can you explain a bit more about it, like how is it powered do you have to connect it to the aircon vents, does it cool only the back or also the SEAT..

Hi am uploading some pics of the arm rest and seat cooler.
I bought this from MASS around 2 years back. I dont recollect the name of the brand. I bought it for Rs. 1900/-. Pretty good and helpful. I drive almost 40 kms to work (one ways) daily in peak traffic.
The seat cooler is helpful in keeping the back cool.
This has a fan at the bottom of the seat which pulls air into the seat and blasts air from the cushions.

Many of my friends too are searching for the same but it seems its not available anymore. i inquired at MASS, it seems that they discontinued selling it because of complaints of defective units, but i was lucky. Its still working fine.

Power is from the cigarette lighter

LOL !! Yes only the back and the thighs. If only it could cool the head.. which gets heated up by the traffic, rickshaws, bikes etc

Looks like arm rest cum storage box. Does it have a padded top or do you just rest your arm on the plastic. Any problem operating handbrake?

Padding is there, but a single sheet of foam , its good enough. don't feel uncomfortable.
U need to stretch the hand a bit lower to pull handbrake. Handbrake doesn't touch the stand or the arm rest. and is pretty easy to engage and lower.

when was the first oil change for the car?Is it not during the 3rd service?(the 10000km one).
Any recommendation on which oil to go for?

I'm sorry I couldn't make out the position of the seat-cooler-fan from the pics. Does this fan under the seat fool with the rear occupant's feet if the rear occupant stretches his/her legs? (like how I used to sit in my friends Estillo).

Also, is this fan silent?

Do you know if something like this is available from car accessory shops. I mean for 2K or so this is really worthwhile for long those hot summer days. My one question is does it affect the seat material long term. You have had it for 3 years or so now, and that should be enough time to tell I hope.please:

Its worth the money spent. No it does not affect the seat in any way. I tried looking for more such units for my other cars... But alas not available
