In fact with black carpeting and roofline combined with beige interiors is the best option IMO.

Other option of all black interiors makes the interior feel cramped..

Every thing around is designed to be a bit funky, which is not to my personal liking. Maybe I am getting too old.

Kodiaq. Since it's a full blown luxury flagship SUV unlike others which appear like mini SUV s. Kodiaq is the flagship while bmw, volvo etc have cars better than the X1 and the XC40 in their stable.

just got a message advertising the 2019 Kodiaq L&K with virtual cockpit and 360area view camera.

That apart voted for the kodiaq. Understated elegance and oodles of space really appeals. Now if only were a bit more fun to drive!

We like anything based on what impresses our senses. In that, our eyes take a very important place and opinion, and then are our other senses which derive joy when the car is on the move. For me stunning looks are not as important as much as how is it in the sack. For that reason it is X1.

The VW Tiguan should either be removed from the list considering the Brand OR Hyundai Tucson should be added to the list. The VW Tiguan review itself states that it is overpriced over the Hyundai Tucson.

Also since the Kodiaq is in contention though it is a 7 seater and a size larger (probably purely for the price point), similarly the next gen Hyundai Santa Fe should be added to the list for the same reasons and would take my vote for the price point.

Among the list the X1 would be my favourite followed by the Kodiaq. The XC40 needs a price revision for the brand even considering the equipment on offer.

The Next Gen GLA and Q3 are awaited, at which point the X1 would go down the list but presently it does top mine.

Let me explain why I preferred a Merc. It is axiomatic Mercs retain value much better than any other brand. One can say, if you are looking at a huge (70%) depreciation in the first two years, then why bother.

My vote goes for the Kodiaq. Sheer practicality, features available. Top of the line product than an entry one from their competitor's stables.

If Skoda had given the 188 bhp engine, it would have been a no brainer.
