the c220 cdi i faster then the c200k in 0-60 and 0-100 but not in top speed
the skoda RS is an out and out performance car while the merc is a rich boys executive performnce car .
anyway
i really do think the c220cdi is a better buy then the c200k
it has the looks and the power but untill i have to go to office wearing a formal suit and all, its the RS for me

I doubt if I ever will prefer Bajaj over Honda. Ditto here.

Nothing beats Merc. It's not just about performance, it's the perfection. There can be a competition between Merc and BMW, but not between Merc and Skoda. Just class apart!

Performance is not everything that i look for in a car. Yes it does play a vital role but u cant really compare a Skoda to a Merc imo. The RS is a good performed no doubt ... but what happens when u r performer goes a bit wonky on the road? atleast the safety features of the C-class come into play then. The car is loaded with airbags from all corners to keep ur safe. Besides even the comfort and ride u get in a C-class is beyond compare to that of a octavia.

Are u guys nuts to choose the skoda to the merc...???
:WTF:

Ok, if it was an evo or something which had that performance, then o.k... but the rs to a merc...blah..

tough one there. I personally would buy a diesel merc over a petrol one anyday. So choosing between the two i think i would go for the RS. But, the status and image you get with a merc is unbeatable- at least in India.
hmmmm...i going to go and think over this.

i wud go for the rs coz its cheaper to buy, cheaper spares, and all the power is put on track and is not a promise! instead of buying a merc i'd rather buy 2 rs..

The Merc is the better car here, no doubt. But right now, i'm looking at performance, which the Merc doesn't have. RS for me.

Handling wise i would prefer the Merc, the RS is FWD and all FWDs have their limitations when it comes to handling. Rationally speaking, this comparison makes no sense, the Merc is a totally diff car from the RS.

Now why'd u say that? if I were buying a car which had a 150bhp & $$ not being a criteria I'd definitely compare the two.

cheers,
Rai

I'd buy 2 vRS's, so when one is getting its oil changed, I use the other!

But seriously, even if we disregard the initial purchase cost, one only needs to see the crap GTO and other C class owners have gone through with their cars to make you vote for the RS.

After seeing the stock RS hold its own with other modified cars in the drag event - it lost but by not much of a margin, I'm sold !
