335ci? M45? C350? Need your urgent help guys ... USA

Hey guys,

I am looking to purchase a new car within this month. I narrowed my selection to bmw 335ci, Merc C350, Infiniti M45.

I don't really like the merc's interior, 335ci is classy/sporty. I have my heart set on the m45, fully loaded, but I don't know if I should just go with reliable nature of Bmw / Merc? Could I get an honest opinion here from experts

The M45 is a great car. however i would prefer a bimmer in this case.
The 335cI is an awesome car.

AFAIK its also a twin turbo
and 400nm or torque at a unbelievable 1300 rpm

If i were in your place , i would go for the 335ci

335ci without a doubt for me there.
That engine is to die for ! The twin turbo setup has won several awards in the past year.

Btw, you could also add the Audis to this list - A4 & A5

If 4 doors is not all that important, why not look at G37 - or G35 if u do need 4 doors.... They are much more sporty as compared to the M45. No V8 though

Hey!

I have driven the 335i and I personally feel its the best engine i've ever used !
The seamless power delivery from such low rpm's and the feel of the car along with the handling make it a winner!
I have always been a Merc fan as compared to the BMW, but honestly after driving the 335i, I would go for the BMW in a heart beat.
Although, like you mentioned the pricing is a bit steep, but the resale value of the BMW is so good, I don't think you would have a problem in loosing money !
It's worth it!

p.s: the M45 I feel personally is an old man's car, dont you think?

Cheers !

Dipen - 4 doors is not a MUST, but rather convenient.

Sahil - I am checking the sedan out this weekend. Will update.

Mohit - Infiniti G class doesn't impress me. I test drove it, and the power band didn't impress me. Bang for your buck though.

SRajani - 335i will be test driven this weekend.

Ajmat - A5 is SLEEK, but It is out of my budget.

Again, Thank you guys for the wonderful response. By the way, Ajmat -- A5 is sick bro.

If you can live without 4 doors then I would say you should.

As far as 2 door cars in the current price range, you have a choice between Audi A5, BMW 335i (coupe), Infiniti G37.

All these cars are good but the BMW has a twin turbo which means you could upgrade that at a later stage when the warranty is out. Plus you could get some Dinan products from the dealer and the warranty on those parts are matched with the factory warranty.

If buying a used car is not an issue, you could go for a used E46 M3 with low miles and six speed, once you drive that car you will see the difference.

If I were you I would go and testdrive all these cars and see what YOU like best, just buy what you like, you have to live with it !!! Goodluck and keep us updated.

BMW calls it the 335i Coupe - the Coupes are all badged 335i now (unlike the earlier 330Ci).

From what I know, Infinity's are no lower on the reliability ladder than a BMW or a Mercedes.

If you didn't like the C350, don't think about it any more . Concentrate on what you like.

The 335i and the M45 are in different segments - if you need the extra space, then definitely go in for the M45.

Why not the G37? That's a nice car! I'd recommend that over the M45.

The 335i Sedan won't fit more than 4 people in comfort (rear passengers will be cramped). The 335i Coupe is worse, in terms of rear seating space. So if you need to carry more than 2 people on a regular basis, you're better off with the M45.

That said, the 335i handles like a dream - definitely think about getting the Sport Package, if you plan on buying one i.e.

How long do you plan to keep the car?

I would love to see Ajmat's face at that comment!

It's really not that bad - just a second slower to 60mph, and not much difference in mpg. Also, it doesn't ruin the driving experience.

335i all the way but A5 now thats a good one. Just hear a A5 and I bet you will forget the rest. All depends upon your requirement.
