Congrats dude on your purchase. How much did you get it for? Pics would do no harm

You cannot take an insurance without a valid US license.

Check www.geico.com, www.progressive.com, allstate.com.
You shall find premium rates online.
IMO, progressive & geico are the cheapest for people with no / less credit histories. I have progressive and find them pretty good.

Hi guys,
@ Hawkeye: Progressive says they can give me insurance with IDP but they are asking > 700$ for 6 months.Expensive
Rest of the companies want US license.
@ Turbo_lover: I got the car registered via AAA in my name. The car is green :( . I wanted red/black
@ Abhay: I don't have pics but the seller had sent me a short video buts its like 4mb so not worth downloading. I'll click some pics soon.
@ Insane Devil: I think I'll stick to the existing number plates for now.

thanks again,
Raihan

Raihan,

700 is good for 6 months. Its generally in the 600-700 range for starters.

Also find out how much are the deductibles and what is your car/3rd party damage coverage.

IMO, $700/6 months is truly good enough. It will come down after 6 months if you have no claims, tickets, decent credit history.

Good Choice

Is it a stick or auto?

Was the timing belt changed? If not change it, timing belt at this mileage is a ticking time bomb since its an interference engine

Otherwise great car and relatively low miles. Plenty of aftermarket stuff available too.

@ Hawkeye,
Companies like Geico & Esurance quote some 350$ compared to 700$ from progfressive.
@ Mpower,
Its an auto, the timing belt was changed at 91K miles, I have the bill for it.
Cheers,
Raihan

I really am not sure about $350. The lowest I Geico has quoted me is $570 with 6 months old US license and no claims/tickets. Got progressive for $530.

I suggest u wait if u get geico for this less. It depends on a case to case basis. I may be unlucky with my auto-insurance.

On both my old cars I have collision only insurance which is the minimum the state requires. Ask for a quote and
find out how much difference it makes.

Another way to lower your rate is to set a higher co-pay amount.

Got a 2003 Dodge Stratus here in US. She's pretty decent considering the V6 engine, spacious interior and not many miles on it and so far no issues.

Acura-Integra: Intermittent starting problems

hi guys
I've been driving my Acura- Integra (1994) for a month now, over the past 5 days the car has refused to start a couple of times. However it starts in like 5-6 minutes, the battery seems fine as the power windows & locks are working fine.
And this problem happens only sometimes, I suspect its related to fuel supply? As when I start I can hear the engine crank but it does start. Also when I opened the fuel cap, I noticed there was a vacuum in the tank (air was rusing into the tank). But even after releasing the vacuum the problem persists.
Your valuable comments are appreciated.

thanks,
Raihan

I think that is most likely the fuel pump relay issue. Call the dealer and also try Pep-boys and ask for the Main-Relay (it controls both pump and injectors). Should cost about 50 bucks.

Or else you can call a local mechanic but they like to buy the parts themselves and mark up the price. Ask your local friends for a good mechanic

BTW, your PM box is full.
