First Mods for my OHC VTEC.....

OK the first mods started today with the priority being tires...
the owner had changed the tires to brand new JK tire 165/65/r14

so changed them to yokohoma avs 100 195/60/r14

the tread pattern in nice and this is supposed to be the next best replacement to g3 potenza's....

could not afford the g3's as they were selling at 3900 a piece...

tires were the first priority as the tires were brand new and would fetch the best exchange value.

so off i went with santosh a team bhpian who very kindly came along with me and got me a great price...

the old tires were bought for 1250 a piece and the new one's came to me for 2900 a piece..

need to thank santosh a lot for his help.......

well tbhp has helped me in more than one way

firstly to procure the car and then help withthe mods too....

i thank Sudhir(sshastri), Shan2nu, Wolf, Santosh for all their help ...

Is this the type of tyre threading pattern that reduces or prevents aquaplaning during the rainy season?

Godspeed.

hey Adit,

first, congrats on the VTec.. had been following the posts for quiet sometime.

Just wondering... will the OE VTec alloys be wide enough for the 195 tyres ? Am asking because I was advised to use 185 as the 195's will need 6J alloys.... was told that over time you may get uneven tyre wear.... Experts, can anyone comment on this please ?

BTW, that price you got was the second best I have seen on the whole country... the best being 2.5K each in Cochin....

Nice... I really like 'em! I had this thought because I had seen tubless's with those 2 grooves running alongside each other in the middle of the tyre before.

Godspeed.

Yup!!! noticed it while changing my tyres earlier this month... now I know why they sell at a premium... BTW, I got mine for 12K for a set of 5, the best part is, none of them needed more than 20 grams of balancing weights (the total balancing weights used was 80 grams for all 5). Which means these wheels are made to very high standard specifications....

Guys, I have the same tires on my esteem and am more than happy with them both performance-wise and looks.
Adit's car looks really cool after the change of rubber. Everybody in the shop were admiring the well-kept white beauty. His car is a gem.

Adit, not sure if I mentioned to you yesterday at the tire-shop... the AVS ES100s have an excellent rim-protector to protect your precious enkeis from potholes.

ADI's VTEC is just amazinnnnnnnn....

Guys,

It was a tough task for an amateur driver like me to get hold of Adi's car, but somehow I managed to steal the keys to the doors of what I would say automoble heaven. Adi was quite stiff necked about a new driver with a not so impressive record driving his VTEC but I am sure he subtly appreciated a 9 month old driver handling his machine....; )

The short drive and a little show by Adi later about the VTEC performance stole my heart.

The white honda with those niche alloys was amazin !

Nice tyres, Adi. They are way superior to the G-IIIs.
