Team-BHP - Best Xenon HID conversion kit

The HID bulbs in a HID projector Yes! The DS2 is one of their best projectors - Comes as a 3" projector.

I have the Morimoto Mini H1 Bi- Xenon, which is a 2.5" projector and I love them! In parallel to my HID projectors I was going to install a pair of Hella 3000 I had lying around - after seeing the light output of the Mini H1's I canned the idea. I just didn't need them!

The video clearly shows more glare with the HID though crazy amount of illumination. Also, to note that the cut off with HID is the worse over halogen and LED.

I have also noticed that once you change to LED bulbs the beam height changes. You need to align the headlights manually and ensure they don't focus upwards. This causes more glare and spread.

The quality is quite good and it is a Canbus Asic ballast.

Now for my Jeep Compass I am considering whether I should go for the same Dmex setup with CNlight bulbs in 4300k or should go for a higher grade ballast from Hylux with Yeaky bulbs as below:

How are Yeaky bulbs as compared to CNlight? The Yeaky bulbs are more expensive and have a minimum CCT of 4500k.

Thank you for the informational video. Cars under the 10 lakh category like the Dzire, Ertiga and the likes - when they say projector headlamps, my understanding is projectors housing halogen lamps and not HID bulbs. Am I correct? If so, are those halogen lamps in the "halogen projectors" OEM 55/60w? If not, please educate and enlighten. Thank you!

I got a projector + HID kit installed in my car about 6-7 months ago.

Around December, the passenger side HID bulb didn't come on. There were no sparks, no flickering, nothing of that sort. The light just didn't start.

My initial suspect was the ballast. But the shop I took it to tried a new bulb with the old ballast and it worked, so went ahead and installed it, but continued to keep an eye out. This happened 2 weeks ago. Yesterday, what I feared came true. The new bulb stopped working as well.

This time I'm planning to head to a headlight specialist (any suggestions?) and get the wiring checked out.

Any suggestions on where he should start? Would it be right of me to continue suspecting the ballast given the symptoms or is it something else that is shorting the bulb?

The driver side HID bulb has been working perfectly the entire time. I use my car mainly on the weekends, so the lights haven't been used much in these 2 weeks.

With LEDs coming in the life for HIDs may be not that long. I Predict the LED will be the lamp of the future. The HID will be an intermediate stage. I am sure the cooling system will progressively become smaller.

Prediction may always be tricky - I remember a US General calling the atomic bomb an impossible damf**l trick which will never come about, etc. But I am sticking my neck out.

I got myself for my WRV Osram 6000 K HIDs for Rs 11,000 and now need projector lenses. When I went to a local shop in Chennai, he quoted Rs 15,000 for the projector lenses and I ran away. Can someone please guide me on what projector lenses to get that will fit the WRV and also how much they'd cost? I do not mind buying online.

Try installing a 6amp 400v Rectifier Power Diode on the positive wire side that goes to the ballast.
It is either that or you need to use a better headlamp relay.

This turned out to be a ballast issue. Unfortunately, I had to change the fuse as well. Thankfully it was a 2-minute fix since the company gives 4 extra fuses.

It's been a couple of months now, and happy to say that everything is performing perfectly.

@sidpunjabi; I bought my hid conversion for the fog from Xenonpro (on the other forum) and I had a problem with one light not firing up after about 15 days. He advised me to swap ballasts and sure enough it worked. He said that lamp failures are almost invariably due to the ballasts, and bulbs last a very long time. A quick swap confirmed it. So I replaced the ballast and it is still going after about seven years. I have 3000K, 55W HIDs in my Civic.

I am using IPHCAR fog projectors along with crystal eye HID kit and have no issues with it. I have heard that IPHCAR and SINOLYN projectors have a same design and quality. So I believe they will be a good set of projectors. However, I don't have any idea about the HID kit from SINOLYN.
