They require running water connection.

Hymatic comes with German connector. You can work thro' an adapter or cutoff the original connector and put in an Indian connector. 15A is recommended

Is there any model which can work off the car battery- less pressure is fine?

I have no idea. To best of my knowledge, Hymatic does not have such a model. You may,however, visit their web-site (posted by me in an earlier post) and check out.

Today morning, i saw the demo of Bosch and Black & decker models in Metro. Any reviews about B&D Model.
I am planning to buy one. Any suggestions ?

As per the demo person, it should have running water and most important we cannot use it continuously for not more than 10 mins.

Did a bit of trawling the www for Black & Decker Pressure Washers, and got the address and phone number of their sole importer and distributor in India - Gryphon Impex Pvt. Ltd. at Okhla, New Delhi. Spoke to them about the product.

Unfortunately, they are not permitted to import this particular product line (pressure washers), and cannot provide after-sales support either.

Well, without service support, I don't want to buy B&D.

Well, there you have my viewpoint of B&D - don't know how Metro is selling the stuff if the sole importer is not bringing it in.

As to using it for 10 minutes only - what car do they want us to wash? Matchbox cars?

Bharat Sales is the authorized dealer for Bosch products, including Aquatak, in Delhi. Spoke to them just now. All product models, spares and service available, but they are located in Azadpur, not too easily accessible. The prices quoted were Rs.8400 for the Aquatak 10, and Rs.12000 for the Aquatak 100 Plus (would these be effective in washing an SUV? - the product brochure says they are ideal for light spring-cleaning). For cleaning cars, the minimum recommendation is for Aquatak 110/110 PLus/115 Plus, though for bigger cars the recommendation is for at least Aquatak 1200 Plus.

The Bosch representative views on this was that, after 10 mins we need to give a break for 2 to 3 mins to resume it back. He explained some technical stuff that the washer(or something like that) they use in the machine is like that and he was honest enough to tell also that to reduce the price they have done like that.

Never seen one that works from a car battery but there are petrol ones available.

Also the pressure from a simple water pump is more than adequate to wash a car. That is what I got at home in India, it has a direct feed from the water tank. It is simple and can be repaired locally, the pressure is enough to take mud and dirt off without damaging the paintwork.

You can also use the pressure type setups you get for spraying with tractors. That produced a lot of pressure and again can be easily repaired locally.

I spray my CR-V within 7-8 mins max. And this includes the underbody..

Can we spray high pressure air to blow the water off with Bosch? I have used such public systems abroad. By blowing the water off, you don't need to wipe too much water. Its extremely helpful

bj96... yes, they require a tap with running water*. My Bosch has a 5-amp plug; maybe the large models may require 15, I don't know.

I haven't heard of a battery-operated one.

*afterthought: I think I've heard of some models being able to be used as a pump. Maybe they might work off a drum of water. Just a thought.

No, you cannot do it with Bosch. It is only for pressure water.

In the public use system that I am talking about, you put in money and then high pressure waters flows in for about 45 secs, followed by 10 secs of shampoo, followed by another 45 secs of high pressure water. It ends with about 20 seconds of high pressure air which lets you blow the water and residue away. 2 mins and it works brilliantly.
If bosch does only water jet then i know in bangalore around JC road you can buy nozzles with pipe which would serve the same purpose. The only advantage would be portability with bosch

Bought (booked) an Aquatak 100 Plus (with 5 attachments) at the Auto Expo yesterday for a special discounted price of Rs.7500 + 4% VAT after watching the demo and trying it out myself. Home delivery after the Expo ends next week. Six months warranty included.
