Off course they are legal - .

Anything outside the body is Not legal. Irrespective of how many people are using it. If too bright, definitely not legal, no matter where or how it is mounted.

Beg to differ mate. As far as I remember the road code says - mounting these lights above the line of driving lights is illegal and liable to be pulled over. It also says to cover the lights when they are not in use. This is from someone who is in the RTO.

There is no definitive rule around brightness for any auxiliary light to be illegal - at least not in Karnataka.

It is not enforced, that's all. KA RTO / cops are quite relaxed on these things - but that does not make it legal.

Hi I want to install LED / White light fog lights on a F30 BMW 320D, any suggestions how to go about it? It must be code error free ( no flickering ) Does anyone know of a place in Chennai?

In case of bikes, the most popular setup is a single 8" or smaller bar mounted below headlight. No dimmer option. Just a switch connected to battery. With just 40W of power consumption, there is no excess load

Any suggestions on where to get a pair for a motorcycle?

amazon.in or ebay.in has plenty of sellers. You can check them out there. But make sure to get the wiring done by a professional.
