Hi,

Today there are decent number of polo GT’s on the road, and few blokes have modified it tastefully. This is when all the research started before the purchase of my new car.

I have been thinking to buy this car for quite sometime, but I delayed it as I already bought a brand new car. Recently I shifted back to Mumbai and as we all know Mumbai roads and parking issues, I decided that now is the time to buy a small car.

I wanted to have a automatic hatch which can be modified to my liking, it was pretty simple to decide on the polo GT TSI, though I had gone to book the GT TDI, but thank god last minute I got a wake up call in my mind regarding the daily traffic driving and booked the TSI.

Pretty happy with my decision, I wont write much on the ownership review as there are many on the site, I will just share the details of the mods done, maybe I will be able to help people who buying GT and looking for mods.

I would like to thank Sugesh (www.vagtune.com) , a true professional and man of his words, he was very instrumental in enhancing the features of the cars, and every mod done by him is worth it.

I would like to thank Vinod/Thambu from RRP who made the stainless steel exhaust system original design down pipe with cat back for my car. BMC Cold air intake Carbon Dynamic box. Thanks to Four season for installing it.

Hot Tracks Anil for importing the OZ rims for me (unfortunately got delayed due to customs).

Shailesh (Premji tyres Mahim) for the tyres and installation.

Finally, Peter Chacko (owner Pete's Automotive) for helping me out with smooth installation of Bilstein and Remapping.

People helped and special thanks:

Sugesh- www.vagtune.com (Kochi)
Peter- Petes Automotive (Kochi)
Vinod- Red Rooster performance (Bangalore)
Anil- Hot tracks (OZ Rims) Bangalore
Four Seasons- Mumbai
Shailesh- Prem Ji Tyres (Mumbai)

I drove to Kochi combined with a south holiday trip covering Munnar and ooty, it was a blissful drive and truly enjoyed the GT on my way back with all the mods, its fast, its in control and its always furious and braking is no more an issue.

With all the mods now it is a true GT.

My Black Panther.

Wooh, That's an awesome car to own with some really cool mods! Congratulations. What do the specs look like after the remap ? Did you do a 0-100 ?

Wow, one hell of a mods list.

The best mod friendly car in Indian market currently in it's class. Looks hot.

I couldn't get any idea if you have matching leather sear covers or other leather stitching.
Thread will be more informative if you could add remap figures and driving experience after remap, suspension and tires change.
Hope more info will be coming soon.

Thanks for your kind words. well the brakes and the shocks have given one hell of confidence while doing spirited driving, also there is almost near to zero body roll, with the stock brakes and shocks I had no confidence what so ever to drive hard and zero confidence to take bends at a high speed, braking was below average at high speeds, now I am super confident to turn at any speed and brake.

There is no dyno at Petes so cant give any figures unless I do one here in Mumbai, but the bottom and mid end has improved marginally, its also because I have a cold air intake and exhaust so add little more to the remap.

Seats well if you have seen the stock seats I am following the same pattern, the center part will be red and the sides will be black with red stitch similar to the steering stitching. Next week I will put the pics for the seats, please bear with me until then.

I hope this helps:)

Well it seems you left quite an impression on the guys at VW Downtown, Mumbai. I was there to check out the new Polo last evening and one of the guy did mention about your car and apparently knew your handle name too.

An awesome list of mods you got there :thumbs up

Dear Saint,

Super list of mods on your Polo.

I would appreciate if you could share the cost of the various mods, as many of us would be interested in some of them.

FYI, there is a DIY thread in Team-BHP on installing the shark fin on a Polo.

The steering came as is in perforated leather with red stiching. Now yiu can also drive it manually in D drive, judt press the paddle and it goes manual, press it again or leave it as is it will go into auto mode in its own.

Thanks for your appreciation will keep me motivated to do more:).
Driving is pleasure now and wish the polo gt was sold like this by the company, as mentioned in the subject line "true GT now".

Honestly in life I believe in perfection and this car is perfect now, I am unable to find a weak point in this car,
If you have more questions pm me your number I will be happy to speak with you.

Truly very classy Saint at modding your GT TSI. clap:

When I openned this thread, Robinmehta's thread came into my mind and i was expecting a lot of mods on those lines. But quite frankly, you have just set your own brilliant way of altering a Polo.

Personally, I am quite keen on one thing, which is the 'Rear Disc Brake' conversion. Not that I will be getting it done on my GT right away, but rest assured this will be one of the first important performance mods going in.

Can you please share some more pictures of this and more of the side profile stance of your GT TSI. please:

That's a beastly list of mods you've get there bud, I'm loving all the Polos on the forum with their modability. Love the steering in particular, that red stitching is ooh-la-la. Enjoy!

Vik that is a wise decision. The manual of the new disc brake says do brake bleeding after 800-1000kms. I just did it this morning and the brake paddle has become firm to press and definitely jams the car quite well. I will click some pictures and post them. Just give me sometime.
Thanks for your appreciation.

Superb.

A good mix of mechanical upgrades as well as cosmetic mods. Its not often you find owners doing mech mods. Suspension, Brakes, exhaust replacement is serious stuff.
