I desperately need a separate sensor kit for front only. I have 4 sensor kit installed in the rear but dealer told me that current controller I have, only supports 4 sensors. There is separate sensor controller for six sensors.
I am looking independent 2 sensor kit for front with dash display/A Pillar display unit.
Please help
you can get 1 on ebay india

Move 2 sensors from back to front , In my view 2 sensors are enough ( OEM Scorpio and Safari have 2) , installers place all 4 at back because they do not know what to do with rest of the 2 .

No its not possible, there is a separate controller and display unit for having both front and rear.

Any reason why another controller and display is required ?
This is assuming that will switch on either front or rear a time ( Car can move only in one direction)
So essentially the setup you are suggesting is -
One controller for front , Switches on when first gear engages or switched on otherwise manuallyanother controller for back which switch on when reverse gear is engaged
But suppose if we switch a single controller when either 1st gear or reverse gear is engaged and then place 2 sensors in front and 2 in back ( at extreme ends of bumpers) the setup should just work fine.
Installers refuse to do this because for rear it is easy to install they just tap the wire for tail light and use it to switch on the controller when reverse is engaged but probably there is no such easy tapping point for first gear and another switch is required.
I feel there is no extra efficiency with 4 sensors instead of 2 at rear. My safari has 4 sensors in rear whereas the Scorpio VLX has 2 but still they are suitable for detecting objects.

Why don't you ask your parking sensor dealer to exchange this unit for a six sensor one? That would be the easiest way to get it done.
With all that, I would also add that the front ones are a little nuisance on a practical basis.

At least in the one that I have, the front sensors are activated depending on the RPM / speed and the brake.

So you have 2 at the front and 4 at back with a 6 sensor controller in your car . Does this mean on applying brake the the system is switched on and on engaging reverse gear as well , but there is only one controller and display or you have 2 controller and displays for front and back as Rajiv stated in his post
Actually I have 4 sensors all of them at the back there is a wire connected to reverse light which switches it on. I feel that just 2 outer one are sufficient and middle 2 are waste so was thinking if I can additionally attach the trigger point to brake lights and move 2 sensors in front , Will this setup work ?
I have got a reverse camera drilled in my bumper. The LCD screen is mounted on the RVM. This set up costed me 6K. Till date, my RVM has never changed directions on any kind of road due to the extra load it carries. It takes some time to get adjusted with the camera, but once the teething is over, its a pleasure to have. The only problem that I face is a very small humming sound coming from the LCD screen as it is not tightly secured on top of the RVM. I am planning to fix that this weekend by packing the gap with some rubber grips. Hope it works out well.

This is just one controller and six sensors. 4 in the back and 2 in the front. I am sure about the rear sensors, they are activated only when the reverse gear is engaged as they are connected to the reverse light (the easiest way to do it).
I assume that the front ones get power always, but start sensing only below a certain RPM. Why I suspect some connection with the brake is that when I park somewhere and it will be killing me with the 'stop' warning until I lift my foot of the brake.

Somebody with a better technical brain than mine would have to give you an answer for that. Maybe if you fix them in front and give it a power source, they might work. I am not sure, though! Even with all the RPM and brake contols, sometimes it is a nuisance in bumper to bumper traffic. A guy in a motorcycle in its range will make that system go berserk!
Hi Amit,
In addition to the previous post:
So the reverse sensors are activated only when reverse gears are activated. The front ones are activated by braking.
What I observed:
When the car is started, there is a momentary beep and a display of all the parts of the warning system, something like a system checkup. When I put the gear in first or if I press the brake, there is nothing displayed (when there is nothing to sense in front). But as soon as I put the gear in reverse, there is a display with the image of a car with dotted lines extending towrds the front and back of the car with red arrows towards the rear. In this position if I put the gear in first, the arrows in the back dissppear to be replaced by yellow arrows towards the front.
From what is seen here, this system supports 8 sensors (as per the booklet), but comes with only 6.
I tried taking a picture of the mirror with this sensor display on, but I think it will be better if I did it on the night. Let me try later.
Hope this makes the functioning part clearer.
Which sensor is this trrk? Any brand and what's the minimum distance? Max distane is not as important as min.

Can you give me a link to that please? I searched but could not find it:Frustrati
My new ANHC came with a dealer fitted reverse parking system.
It has 4 sensors fitted in the back bumper. the spec sheet shows display distance of 0.3m to 1.8m. This system works on ultrasonic frequency of 40KHz.
the LED display is mounted on the rear view mirror and displays the distance from the object, the RED/Yellow/Green zones based on the distance and a beeper which warns as the distance from the object is low.
if found it to be very useful (over last 2 days).
unfortunately the spec sheet does nto mention the make or contact details of the maker.
when i contacted the dealer, he mentioned that in case of any issues, he will take care of it.
