The embroidered plush mats in the Baleno are beautiful to look at, but I suspect quick to soil.
In the USA, I had seen what were commercially called, "Invisible Floor Mats".
They were made of transparent heavy vinyl,
allowing the look of the original floor mats and carpet to show through.
They also had a skid-resistant pebbled surface to be slip-free.
And most importantly, they were easy to clean with just a damp rag.
- Have you seen anything like this in India?
- Like the accessories places in Milan subway, Koliwada and Opera House, Mumbai, are there similar showrooms in and around Pune?

yea i think i have seen the see through floor mats in a shop in opera house. not too sure whether theyre slip resistant cos i dont think they had any grooves on them and the plastic didnt have a rubbery texture
I unfortunately bought some ( were the cheapest available )..the thin kind...( dont know abt any heavy ones )
Am gonna throw them away as they get bent and can get in between teh pedals .... very dangerous...

Yes, have bought them for use on my OHC (transparent and thick, with spike like structures on the bottom and bubbles/grooves on the top to make it slip-free. Cost me Rs. 350 Approx. in Coimbatore. I can get you snaps if needed.

Did some research.
The leader in floor mats since 1978 has been a company called
Lloyd Mats.
They are based out of Los Angeles, California. They are the largest US OEM manufacturer of custom fit floor mats, since 1974.
Mat patterns are stored on electronic media and cut using AutoCAD-controlled, ultrasonic cutting equipment. Lloyd has a pattern for virtually every make and model of car, truck or van sold in the USA from 1960 to the present (4000 different car/truck sizes).
Here in a Mercedes LHD automatic.
Lloyd also develop their own embroidery computer software and actual mat embroidery.
One of their products, Lloyd Protector is a clear vinyl car mat, that allows the carpet color and pattern to be visible.
The vinyl is moulded with anti-slip nibs at the back to ensure that the car mat does not slip during travel.
Because they are durable and long wearing, these are comparatively costlier than the regular rubber car mats.
They have a textured upper face that provides a safe, non-slip surface.
Question: Are these available in India? Has anybody used them on the Suzuki Baleno/Cultus VXi?

Few days back when I was at Poona Motors for getting my music system installed I saw a couple of coustomers purchase transparent mats. There were at least two varities available but they looked much much thicker than the Lloyd\'s mats in the pics you posted Ram.
u get universal ones, but fit wont be perfect like those shown in the pics, i have put fabric adon mats and over them these transparent ones
The Elantra has them as OE. You may want to go to your nearest Hyundai showroom!
Here are some pics of my transparent mats. See the non-slip spikes on bottom and the grooves on the top. Please note, my OHC has beige interiors and I have these mats on top of a OE fabric mat. Sorry about the poor quality of the images, I took them with my cell phone camera with virtually no lighting. Hope this helps...

I have been using transparent mats in all my cars for years. They cost 250rs or so for a set. They are cheaper than the ones quicksilver has posted and look better since they dont have those ugly bubble type grooves.

Can you post a pic Sahil ?
The bubble type grooves actually help as they make the surface non-slippery. That said, I agree that it is not great looking. Just have it because I don\'t want to spoil the fabric mats. Off late, I have seen similar mats in solid colours, like beige/brown/blue and black.

am using UV clear mats in my sera, they perform same function apart from that they glow with Uv lights I purchased a complete set from honkong it looks nice

For those who are interested regarding clear mats, I saw them at Auto World, JC.Road.
Rs 250 for a set of 5, universal mats. They had those little studs/grooves on it also.
Had a set on my old Escort. Front mats were good, rear mats slipped or rolled up constantly. After three years they yellow with age, and eventually scrapped them
