Hey.. I have a Matiz and I have installed power windows on the front windows (This was wayback in 2000) and it costed me Rs5500/-. The make that I used was Autocop and the same Central locking as well. The power windows go up when u lock the car using the remote.

Techno my mother's Santro also has after market PW's and they have been running perfectly for more than 2 years. But they are a Korean make and costed me about 7k for the front two. Got these insted of Autocop because of the personal assurance of my installer that these were better and would last longer than Autocop's (I trust the guy a lot) and his words have been proved right.

iraghava: Thansk for the info man. See the point is that MGA front only PWs cost 7k & my accesories guy has some make(I think autocop but not sure) which he says will cost 5.5 for front & 10.5 for four so I am just wondering whether the 1.5k more MGA is worth or not, not that Am going for it right now but was just considring various options. So for 7k I might as well go for MGA

Hi Techno - Autcop PW are not the best and not as easy as the original fitment. I never faced any problem and it is six years of installation right now (Fingers crossed!). I think the after market PW are more power hungry so make sure that the car is live when u shut / open the power windows. It might drain the battery if you operate too often when the engine is not up. I do not have any experience with other makes so I wont be able to compare!

@ Thanks satishfaction

@rareone: Even I thought so when I read the topic but the first post is not an introduction & talks only about Power windows :-)
