Brother sincerely speaking, fix a budget before asking for such advice! Give us a ballpark figure to play around with since we'll surely exceed it anyways!!!

I would suggest a budget of about 13-15k if you need only front & rear speakers & amplifier for them. If you also need a subwoofer then the budget should be around 23-25k.

but without the amp the sound will be louder and clearer than the regular 4"-5" speakers that you get for the front doors, right?

@gr8guzzler:the cheapest amp that you can get is the sony 222.it will cost close to 2500bucks.
as soon as the audio gurus invade this thread, whatever budget you keep aside will turn out to be a very small amount

Nahi yaar, haven't even upgraded the front speakers yet. Of late have not been using the car a lot and hence the lack of enthu to get it done. I'll surely give you a call before I upgrade.

Cheers!!!

Not sure if there is a 4" component system (I gave up my chase). Try to see if you can fit a 5 1/4" speakers in your front door. That is the best possible way to get decent sound from the front.

Well, i use Kicker 4" Component system (Ex 4.2) which cost me 5k in my Esteem for sometime now. There are other brands like MTX and Blaupunkt which also have components in this size.

Cheers

4" components, eh? hmmm....But if u're spending that much anyway, you might as well get 5.25" comps fitted.

That's what I have in my Ikon - JBL 5.25 comps in front. Got em for 5.5k in BLR. And no, u don't have to radically change the housing to fit them.
