i bought a 1999 honda city 1.3exi (second hand pretty good condition done about 70,000km) last week (no moolah so had to settle for a 1.3 yes,yes i know the car sucks BUT I LIKE IT)..... i know the car is a bit weak but hey getting an underpowered cars up to speed is more fun i think...

anybody know any garage that does custom level one upgrades for performance( filter w induction ,4-1 headers ,custom freeflow etc. etc)

i dont want to buy branded parts unless i have to.....

also could i have the approx prices for the above mentioned parts.....

p.s...any suggestions for cosmetic changes (although secondary to performance)

Hey dude....dont be so embarassed that you bought a 1.3 city.its a real good car if you maintain as simple as you can.go for aura mags with a bit wider tyre.try getting a K&n filter .leather or vinyl seat covers and a pair of xenon bulbs for the head light all this might cost you within 40k at a genuine shop.

Arctic since you're based out of Bangalore the best guy to contact would be Psycho. He's a fellow member on the forum & you can contact him via PM/E-mail.

Apart from that do a search for OHC mods and I'm sure it'll turn up a lot of threads which you can go through to increase your knowledge & to get ideas from. Remember most of the mods which can be done on the 1.5/VTEC can also be done on the 1.3 so it'll be easier for you.

And enjoy the car it is great fun to drive & the engine is fabulous!

The honda 1.3 does produce around 92 BHP so you are better off than many of us.

Good luck with your mods and do post some pics if possible.Since I am not from bangalore dont know anybody except ofcourse Pyscho.

freeflow exhaust: 9-10 k
universal filer: 3-6 k dpendon on which one you get, for e.g. ractive ev 500 is for about 2500 inr, k&n s start from 3500 inr.
porting, polishing ob: 8-10 k
plugs, wires, etc: no idea, think 3-4 k i think, dunno how helpful these are though

there already exist threads on working, cost effectiveness, etc of the above listed mods, just use the search function.
you could drop physcho a pm, or get in touch with other bhpians with loud rides, mclaren, the wolf, v1p3r, etc.

manson.

u can contact psycho for headers or go to RAC (Ranjith Auto Care) in Koramangala. both are pretty good and reasonable.

The complete FF system should not cost more than 9k max (custom made).

I would recommend you to get a K&N filter (Extreme or typhoon kit) and freeflow+headers. Otherwise, you're not using the full potential of either.

4X1 headers will be better for you than 4X2X1, I think.

And whatever mods you wanna do, contact Psycho before that.

Do you wanna go for an engine swap? Whattabout plonking in a 3L V6 or a civic engine? Or turbo charging will be fine too.

Why stop at a 3.0L V6 Zak? Tell him to go for an 8.0L V10, then go to autopsyche who should be able to custom fabricate a 2 door roofless body for you. You'll then end up with the world's only front wheel drive Dodge Viper. Keep your City's tyres stock though...

arctic: Contact Psycho. I believe he's damn good at what he does, & he should be able to guide you on your mods.
