The Corolla has a LOAD of aftermarket options when it comes to bolt-on power enhancing products. Start with Super Street and also do a search on Google for tips and reviews.

Here is a link to what appears to be a very popular forum for Toyota Corolla owners. Check it out.

hey mullis
why dont u get an ikon 1.6 pre owned
and sell off your esteem.
the ikons engine and brakes and all are better.
it has a lot of torque which may be useful to you.
u can also get a 98 honda city 1.5 in good cond. for that price.
these cars will look awesome once they are modified
after selling of your car and buyin the ikon or city and puitting the turbos and all i think that that the car will work out to some 6 laks after selling off yours.
it may be cheaper infact.
anyways
do keep us updated
cheers

how abt getting a cielo for 50 k ,,,sell off the engine for 15 k
I think the cielo body can handle the 100+ horses of power
and get a brand new baleno engine for abt 90k or maybe 20-30k more for the entire assembly
add a turbo charger for abt 50 k which gives u abt 40 % increase in power at wheels,
put NOS for abt 40 k

and other non-mechancal mods to make it look better for 100k like alloys ,low profile tyres ,spoiler, skirts, neons ,etc
and a sound system for abt 50k.

all this without selling yr esteem for approx 400k,
how does this sound??

how much does a vtec eng. cost
and how will it work with turbos an all
i may think abt puttin it in my NEXIA if it will work well.

I read quite a few of you suggesting to put in various engines in different cars. It sounds very good on paper, but is very different in reality. A lot of factors go into it such as engine mounting method, the mounting points, the load bearing points that the engine distributes across the engine bay, mating it to a gearbox, then checking the ratios, matching all of the above to the suspensions, the tyres, the axle.

Honestly i'd suggest buy a car which has an engine worth tuning (preferably jap sedans since they are best at it and cheaper to work with, also more reliable) rather than do a mix and match. Cuz the chances are the concoction of various parts might eventually not work to the desired level leading to frequent maintenance issues.
