Yes I think it can be reused..just like any other paint..some time will be there though..like maybe 1 year.

General practice is ,( i think i read it in Rustoleum website) hold the can upside down and spray untill only air comes out. wipe the nosil with a clean cloath and store the bottle upside down out of direct sunlight or heat.

it shold last for a year or so.

Bought dot paint and used it....its a life saver for a scratches, especially in bumpers. But there is a slight shade mismatch (Hyundai - Bright Silver) from the body color. So I didn't used for body scratches.

I presume be solid colors may not have this problem.

I have massive scratches across my left rear door in my 3.5 month old Honda City SMT. :(
The gate in my cousin's place in Bombay was too small and I had no option but to squeeze it through somehow because I had no where else to park.

These are only surface scratches (except the door handle) but they still cover a large area.
The dealers don't seem to 'know' about any touch ups, they want me to paint the full set which will cost me 12k.

I'm looking to buy some paint myself and I found this option in com-paint.
Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm looking for the Honda City Urban Titanium option.

I've found a couple of more links but they're from abroad. The first one seems to be a genuine Honda release, but I wasn't aware that they sold touch up paint separately.

Was the gate by any chance of white color? The scratches on your car seems superficial which can easily be removed by some rubbing compound by a professional.

Please take a opinion from a good denter/painter in market before going for touch up paint or as a last resort painting them for 12k.

Touch up paints for such large area isn't a good idea. From my experience the colour match is not 100%. Also, due to your lack of experience the touched up area may become an eyesore.

Get the panels painted from outside the A*S*S. It should not cost you more than 3k (max) per panel in a good bodyshop.

In the meantime buy some rubbing compound and try it on the affected areas. It will reduce the scratches to some extent.

As others have already suggested, take the car to a local shop and try some rubbing and polishing. The scratches will be could be reduced a bit but they will still be visible.

You will not be able to fix it with com-paint as the colour match will not be prefect.

Only option to fix it 100% is repainting the panel.

I wouldn't recommend that considering the number of scratches and the depth of it from the picture. Trying scratching gently over the scratches. If they catch your nails, you will need it repainted since it would have gone through the clear coat and to the paint layer or maybe even the primer layer. One way to reduce its visibility would be polish/rubbing compound. Keep the painting thing as a last resort and do consult with a professional for his opinion.

Thanks, I'll look for the rubbing compounds and other scratch removers and evaluate once I've diminished the scratches wherever possible.

Thankfully, no scratches on my car, but I would like to know from you painting experts about the procedure to paint a gadget of mine. I have a good quality turntable/ record player but since its now over 32 years old, the paint job is now giving up, esp near the edges.

I would like to give it a matt finish, so how do I go about it (shade not decided as yet, but could be stock black)? I would love it to be a DIY. Please suggest the steps and the things that I would need for the job. Please keep in mind that I want the paint quality to be very good, since I am refurbishing it to stock specs.

Guys,

A biker hit my Sunny near the tail lamp and it got broke. This happened few months back. Some time back I replaced the tail lamps and now I see that
the paint has chipped off at that place and it is beginning to rust.

What do I have to do to make sure no further damage happens?.

Do I have to repaint the whole area or something like com-paint touch pen
should help and stop further rusting?.

I have tried a similar option, I used Bondo + Dupli-Color primer + Dupli-Color Taffeta White Paint + Clear Coat on hy Honda City and it is only 70% match and stands out.

The com paint is even more worse, it is as good as buying an acrylic paint from asian paints.

As other have pointed out the colors from spray cans are not a 100% match at all. They only serve for minor scratches and touch-ups.

I would highly recommend getting it done at HASS.

The other option would be Bosch service centres or any skilled local garage.

Has anyone ordered the paint from above website? I am planning to buy it from this site as they have the diamond white shade for my Fiesta.
Any details about the quality and reliability of the vendors would be really helpful.
