I have received the value pack by courier (Order No.407) yesterday. That means it took almost 8-9 days, since they are sending it by surface courier. So guys with 411,413 etc should get in 1-2 days for sure.
Still to try it (maybe tomorrow). Will post the details. |
Hi Abhilash,
Try to take snap before and after so that we can come to know the effectiveness. If possible shoot short video hope not demanding much :D

Thats good catch :uncontrol
Should com-merge be used if there are no overspray ?
Also should rubbing compound be rubbed with lot of pressure ?
Got my order delivered as well.
Just 2 days back, got a nice long scratch. Its a coincidence that I had ordered the touch up paint as well as the AeroShot Top cut tube.
While I haven't tried the touch up paint yet, the topcut tube was full paisa vasool at Rs 40. It removed the white scratches (paint deposit).
Before:
After:
Also, what do you do for paint chips off plastic/fibre surface, like the one shown in the pic below?

Looks good what does this top cut tube do?

Me thinks its a very fine abrasive. It cleans the metal surface when you rub it in using a soft cloth. Same effect can be had using a wax polish like Formula 1.
However at Rs 40 /- this is a steal.
Any DIY solution for the paint chip? I'll probably get the repaint done professionally, but want to experiment before doing so.
Since you are willing to try, here's what I would have done.
Things you would need:
- No 1500 wet emery paper (regmark)
- No 2000 wet emery paper
- Plastic primer
- MSeal (white or phataphat)
- Matching Compaint + Com merge
- Clear Laquer Comspray (yet to be put on Online shopping)
You can buy first 4 items from any paint shop.
- Mark the area with a white crayon as shown in the picture. Idea is to paint along the curve/ before edge starts, it help the paint to blend.
-Use water and 1500 no emery paper to rub off the abrasions. Its not necessary that you take out the whole paint, the surface should be smoothened (feel it with your hand).
- Mask the rest of the area around it with 2-3 layers of newspaper, also mask the door around it.
- Mix the Mseal and fill the small pits, smoothen by using your hand and water just like wet clay. Let it dry for an hour.
- Use water and 1500 emery paper to smoothen out the Mseal fillings further.
- Finally use the 2000 emery paper to refine the whole surface. Feel it with your hand, everything should be very smooth. Wash thoroughly with water.
- Put plastic primer with a waterpaint brush, Let it dry, if you find unevenness, use the 2000 emery paper to smoothen the primed surface lightly.Wash again with water (if you used emery paper)
- Paint along straight horizontal lines, top to bottom as per Com-spray instructions and then use com-merge.
You're Done. Post your results.
If by that time you can buy Clear spray, you can use that as the final coat for gloss or do this part later too.
Tips: remember the distance part for spraying, more distance lighter the colour. If the colour is light, spray one more coat of paint from a closer distance.

I did the touch up job today morning. Colour wise I am satisfied totally. It took 2 tries to get a good result. That may be because I am doing a spray painting for the first time in my life. Anyway let the pictures speak.
First image is after cleaning the area to be touched up, and after covering the surroundings and tyre with newspaper
Second one is after applying the paint.
Now after applying the merge coat.
Finally after 3 hours drying
Now the job left is rubbing and polishing. Without that too the color is perfectly matched. Only difference is in reflecting lights, which is very less for the newly painted area. I suppose this will be corrected once I rub and polish it after 72 hours. Will post the pictures then.
My com-paint can is a dud. It sprays some colorless liquid and bits of paint sporadically.
I have asked com-paint for a replacement can. Lets see if they will respond positively.

I think you need the clear laquer coat, like Dadu had suggested earlier.

I shook it for a whole minute. No use. I have another can of a different color, which works fine.

I bought Metallic Bright Red.
There is no nonmetallic bright red seen in the site. Actually the Maruti color is nonmetallic. But it is the same.
