I checked with Satguide for re-activation in my new phone, but they told it is not possible since the new phone is symbian OS.
Anyway I am happy with the Ovi map within city.

I recently bought the SatNav One-India map with their GPS device for my CarPC. But I am running into a problem while pairing this with my external bluetooth dongle. I changed the dongle but still the same issue. Has anyone used the Satnav device on their laptop/desktop with an external bluetooth dongle ? I am getting stuck at the stage where we need to exchange passwords with the device. It says that the device could not exchange the password successfully. I was given the password of - "0183" by Satnav. Alternately I was asked to try "0000". No luck. I have been breaking my head :Frustrati over this for the past 1 month. Tried different drivers as well as 'Bluesoliel" software. Nothing seems to work.

AS per my understanding,
5230 doesn't have a inbuilt gps receiver (hardware). but it supports A-GPS.
it uses A-gps - Assisted gps through GRPS service which is a paid service.

Ovi may be free and all maps are preloaded free, but your current geographic location is calculated using GPRS and will be charged as per the local Hutch or Airtel plan.

The only phones (that look like the 5800 ) that have inbuilt GPS hardware, are 5800, and 5235.

To check this go into menu - application - location - positioning - positioning method - " here there should be Integrated GPS "

If this not there, then the cell does not have gps hardware.

Other opssions there should be Assisted gps, Bluetooth Gps, Network Gps.

you have a 5230, is integrated gps there?
To check this go into menu - application - location - positioning - positioning method - here there should be Integrated GPS.
this is the best way to check.

To clarify more on this:
5230 is having GPS with A-GPS. The advantage is A-GPS will locate the approximate position using the mobile network before it locks to the satellites. So we get faster positioning. We can use it without A-GPS using only the integrated GPS receiver. It takes 2 to 5 mins to lock the satellites depending on the open-to-sky availability. I use 5230 without A-GPS. I do not have a GPRS connection - so use GPS without using A-GPS feature.
5233 is having A-GPS only. So accurate positioning will not be possible. It also require GPRS connection for positioning.
5235 is also having GPS with A-GPS feature.
