Dent on front BUMPER.

I am devastated.

My 1.6 palio received a dent on front bumper. (from underbody side)
This bumper looks like made up off plastic material.

Is it a good idea to take it out and hammer it a little? I plan to do this myself.
(Is that good idea?)

Hammering is a bad idea. The bumper is plastic. It needs to be heated before it is bent back into shape. Best leave it to the service guys.

If it is a minor job it may not come to much (unless painting is needed). I've got my bumper (Fiat Palio 1.2) reheated and fixed twice (and the entire bumper had to be changed once grrr...). Both times I had the entire bumper painted as the scratches accumulated over time needed to be cleaned out. (I hate having ugly scratches on the bumper)

Don't know how much a new one would cost. About 1500 I think. Happened to see that somewhere.

If the damage is not ver big, then a normal repair job as Hydra told would be sufficient. But if it's a lot more, then replacement will be the ideal route.

Can you post a pic of that dent to see how deep the damage is?

No pictures yet. It's looks small dent, but I just don't like it.

What exactly repair guys do? Heat it and hammer it?

Happened to me last week. The repair guys heated it and pushed out the dent from inside. Then they repainted the entire bumper. Looks as good as new, which is surprising because it was quite a nasty dent and the bumper also had a two inch long crack in it.
