@Kanitkar: Any idea who/where this guy is now? Want to talk to him about the cabin job. I asked around in KP (my old hangout point) and this bakery guy only knows of this awesomely modded bright yellow MG410 narrow body with 235 tyres.

BTW i saw a Hard top gypsy around Law College area twice with a conventional FRP hard top, but with a motorised sun-roof fitted on top behind the drivers seat. The guy driving it told me that it was his friends who could tell me where it was done. He took my number but the dude hasnt called back yet!

Can we fit a sun-roof on the FRP hard-top? Can FRP be cut-shut in this manner?

Hey dilip, I've seen your jeep couple a times at calicut.. Looked great and neat. Especially the colour is really cool... Keep up the good work... :)

The Maximum Tyre Size ..............
Normally when OTR tyres are mentioned......they mention the Tyre Height.
The Tyre Height is determined by the Aspect Ratio (Section Width : Section Height) .
i.e a 255-70-16 = (255x0.70) X2 +16 = 31" approx

Similarly the Older Genaration or the Cross Ply Tyres have an Aspect Ratio of Either 1:1 or 1:0.85)
MRF "SAND GRIP" 7.50X16 (7.5inches X 2) + 16 = 31" approx.

The Primary Consideration for Upsizing in a 4X4
1) Axle Load Rating
2) Track Width
3) Height of the Tyre
4) Contact patch. (Flotation vs Traction)
pt no. 2,3,4 are interdependent.

The Max Tyre Size for a CJ3B is 31" but it the section width cannot be more than 235mm......otherwise steering will become difficult.

The max Tyre Size for a MM540 is 32" but not wider than 255mm

Regards,

Arka

Hey Arka,

OTR - On the Road or Off the Road..BTW..My CJ3B has 235/75 R16 after our conversation yesterday.. Steering is OK and am waiting to take it Off Road..to check out the performance..

Cheers
