The leather handbrake with red stitching was delivered a few days ago, and I installed it last weekend. With that, the original scope of work is completed! The thread on the grip is slightly thicker than the one used by Orchis, and the shades are not a perfect match. But I can live with that.

The webbing is available with a number of sellers on AliExpress. But the safety aspect worries me a bit. Also, an FNG whose owner I trust and respect refused to do the swap, and recommended that I drop the idea. So it is on hold for now. But I would love to hear from any forum members who have attempted this mod.

I’m also in search for this type of seat fabric. Since AliExpress is not available now, I searched and found out this https://www.etsy.com/in-en/market/plaid_auto_upholstery. How much meter is required for all the seats? I’ve recently come across this seat belts in https://www.instagram.com/automodz_coimbatore/?hl=en. I discussed with them and I was ready for the swap but few of my friends raised about the safety concern, so I’ve put it on a hold. Did you change the seat belt?

I needed 2m x 1.5m for the design used in my car. I had a look at the link, and the fabric looks like it is of high quality. Mine didn't have the foam backing.

No, I didn't. In hindsight, it was a good choice. Red seatbelts would have been overkill. And the safety aspect is also a concern.

Did you add rexin kind of fabric in other areas of seat cover where the body doesn’t come into contact ?

Finally I got hold of my much awaited upgrade for my rapid. I got the tartan fabric through one my Facebook friend who bought it through relicate leather based in uk for his car. The fabric is of high quality with foam backing and it’s costlier too( per meter costs 7k). I did the seat cover work from Kakar seat cover dealer based in calicut. Their work was exceptional. Now let the pictures do the rest.
