CarPro Hydr02 Silica Spray Sealant

Product - Carpro Hydr02 Silica Spray Sealant
Applied on -18th May,20
Quantity Used->30 Ml used out of 100 ML bottle
Dilution Ratio->(1:7)(Product: Water)(30 Ml gave me 240 Ml of product to use)
Price of 100 ML bottle->1500 INR
Durability->Under Indian conditions it should last around 3+ months
Application Procedure

1.Washed the car thoroughly with a pH neutral shampoo. No gloss based shampoos to be used to ensure bonding of the product with paint.
2.Applied Carpro Spotless to remove any hard water spots. Then used a soaked microfiber cloth to spread the product evenly. Waited for 30 seconds and then rinsed with water.
3. Applied Carpro Iron X to remove any iron contaminants. Let the product dwell for 2 minutes and see the colour change to purple as it dissolves the iron and other metal particles. Then used a soaked microfiber cloth to spread the product evenly. Waited for 4 minutes and then rinsed with water.
4.Washed the car again with soap to clear the paint of any residue.
5.While the car is wet go panel by panel and spray the spray sealant and within 30 seconds rinse with a strong stream of water. The product is now applied and water beading, silky touch and gloss are immediately visible.

Additional points to Note:-

1. My vehicle was ceramic coated a year ago and the coating was holding fine. It was just to add some gloss and protection to the existing layer.
2.The product can be applied to non coated vehicles as well
3.DO NOT use the spray sealant in direct sunlight or while the surface is hot.The sealant flashes and dries in seconds if not attended to.Best use it in shade.
4.The cleaner the paint of any decontaminants the higher the durability. This rule goes for any wax/sealant/coating.
5.The reason for using Spotless and Iron X was to decontaminate the paint. Its not compulsory. If you feel the paint is clean of any contaminants you can directly apply the product after washing.
6. The product can be used on plastic, alloys, paint without issues.
7. For me, it took 4 hours for the whole process but if you are only applying the product alone it should not take more than 1 hour.
8. There are similar products from other brands which are easier to apply but I found them to be more expensive. This 100 ml should last me for 1 year even if I apply it after every 3 months. Another point to note is that the dilution ratio can be altered for easy application but ofcourse that will alter the durability. just in case you are worried about the flashing and all but with that 1500 INR for 1 year giving you gloss and protection is worth in my opinion.

All the snaps were taken around evening time and in the shade while I went out to get some groceries.
I will post the durability update after 2 months.

Re: CarPro Hydr02 Silica Spray Sealant

Its been 2 months 9 days to be precise since Hydr02 was applied over the vehicle.

Since then the vehicle has been washed (regular as well as waterless wash) in between a couple of times.

Today thought of checking how is the sealant holding off.

It was washed with a pH neutral shampoo to remove any dirt and grime.

I must say its holding good and the water beading and sheeting is still intact.

No major degradation observed.

I think 3 months with a single application/single coat is easily achievable.

Apologies for the bad quality as there was not enough light in the basement.

Re: CarPro Hydr02 Silica Spray Sealant

3 months is a really good time. Even i had purchased a 100 ml bottle many years ago. Used it only once. The initial beading was awesome. Do not remember how long it lasted though. The bottle is still there. I guess i should bring it out of hibernation and try

I used 30ml Hydr02 and with a ratio of 1:7 ( Product : Water), you should get 240 ml which is just enough for Creta.

I was able to cover the exterior excluding alloys.

Last week I tried the Sonax Extreme Wheel cleaner and after that used Hydr02 on the alloys as well.

For alloys around 15-20 Ml of product is enough.

I still have 50 Ml of product left which should last another 8-10 months.
