Change in headlights for my lancer

I need to change my stock headlamps in my 2001 lancer to white lights. I find it quite difficult to drive at nights with the regular lights. Was wondering if white lights would make lot of difference and if so do I need to purchase the full hid set or could I just buy a set of bulbs(white light) and fix them into the stock headlight casing? How much would this cost me?

Dont go in for regular white lights. They will ruin your vision during the monsoons. If you have the budget, settle in for a set of Philips Xenons. They are effective, and worth every penny wou spend.

yea, these cost around 15k in india. i found a deal on ebay which was around 5k with shipping to a US address. if u have a friend/relative who can carry it here for you, thats a good option.
HOWEVER, though these angel eye headlamps look awesome, they aren't the most reliable devices out there... and tend to conk out after a few months. furthermore, according to fellow tbhpian Ricky_63, the quality of light isn't good enough. ricky's lancer was fitted with one of these but he went back to the stock headlamps. I was tempted to go for the angel eyes too, but am sticking to stock with better bulbs

Go through this thread... will be helpful:

ok sounds like its not a great idea to get one of these as they are not reliable.Unless somebody has the money to throw around i dont think they should get these.but they are pretty cool at that price.

I found a set of NARVA bulbs(4500k)which was priced around 750 and the relay rs.850. The whole set up is going to cost me about 1500. Is it worth it? How good and reliable are the NARVA'S? How good is the throw?
