Re: Resto Mod 2006 Baleno Vxi

Quick question, Baleno have a timing belt or chain? I was in the impression that, its a chain that does not require service or replacement. I have seen both answers while searching over internet. Boodmo.com even sell a timing belt for 1st generation Baleno or at least claim its compatible. Shed some light please.

Re: Resto Mod 2006 Baleno Vxi

Timing belt.

Maruti mandates changing the timing-belt every 100K kms. I was only at around 85K kms in November'16, but the car
was ~12years old & since age is also a factor with rubber belts, had it changed.

Ensure that the belt is a correct match - number of teeth etc.

In my case :
Gates timing belt (Rs1680) + Tensioner bearing (750) + AC fan belt (360) + Labour (Rs1410) = Rs4200

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-...ml#post4215353 (My Maruti Baleno LXi. So what's new, right? EDIT: 1,00,000km milestone)

Ordered the timing belt and tensioner.

The right lower arm is spoiled. Refurbishing it since I want to keep the original and not any thai replacement.

Re: Resto Mod 2006 Baleno Vxi

Weekends was quite boring, so tried to give the old headlights a new life. It has come out pretty well in my opinion. At least I could keep the original one now. 400, 600, 1200 and buffing. Rs45 and 3 hours later,

Re: Resto Mod 2006 Baleno Vxi

The beauty is back home. Couldn’t find the original spoiler, but I feel it is looking good without one. Need a good interior detailing and it’s all ready to roll. Please don’t mind my photography skills.

Re: Resto Mod 2006 Baleno Vxi

Informative post. May I know how you refurbished the lower arms? I am facing similar issue and I have a total of three sets of lower arms with me. May I PM you for some information?

With thanks and regards

Sorry for the late reply. The refurbishing did not work well and I was advised against. Bought new old part which I was lucky to get hold of from an old Maruti stockist.

zacs, please get a UV coat for the headlights if you can. Something like this:

https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/...it/HRE.BX.html

The lens would gradually fade otherwise.

Lovely restoration.

Was it an original SGP or an after-market LowerArm ? And what was the cost ?

Asking because the orginal lowerArm is priced exhorbitantly.
