Got a couple of questions.
Is this the only offering for the ikon? because it resembles the stock one to quite an extent.
How are the headlamps clear? is it stock or custom clear?
Also, what will be its approximate cost(kit+shipping to Delhi)
@Sanju-nice car there dude. I am also looking to modify my ikon. thought of taking cues from yours :). i think the car definitely requires a new kit. if u see carefully, (IMO) the front is quite low, the side is moderately high, and the rear bumper is way up. also the side moulding of the car makes me go mad. protective, but ugly.
Keep posting your updates on the car, I'm following them!
Last and final update on this thread! I sold my car [:(]
HI All
I own a 2009 Ford Icon. I am a big fan of ford and been driving it abroad for last 8 years.
I am getting tired with the autowala's hitting all the time in HYD traffic.
Decided to modify the exterior by adding a crash guard on the front.
Custom made clamps have been used to fix the bottom of the grill.
The cross that holds the radiator has two holes where the clamps go.
On the cross behind the bumper, two nuts have been welded in to the holes cut.
L shaped clamps that come with the guard have been used to clamp to these nuts using bolts.
Once the L clamps have been fixed the front bumper has been replaced and then the guard is fixed.
I have a huge problem with the highway traffic on NH 9 and decided to enhance my Lights so 2 lights have been added with a separate switch.
Pictures with Steps for fixing the external crash guard.

And more importantly, this is a huge compromise on crash safety.
Can you please throw some light on how the crash safety is comprimised. I would really be more than happy to take a valid good suggestion.

The bumper is designed in such a way to take impact of the collision to some extent. By installing a bumper guard the bumper will not work in the way it is designed for a collision.Just take an example if car hits something it low speed the bumper guard may get bent and damage the bumper ,lights and radiator etc. I just took an assumption. Wish you a safe journey
Even the rod like thing on the side may hurt any other two wheeler rider
Thanx
HARRY

The front end of a car has crumple zones which are designed to deform and absorb impact in a crash (basically acting as a shock absorber). Now, with a crash guard, the crash guard will take the impact and all the shock will be transferred to the crash guard mounting points then to the crumple zones.
Hope this helps :)

I can understand about auto guys...but I do not understand why you'd be fixing a bull bar. Would fixing crash bars to the back and/or sides not make more sense?
I have also transformed my Ikon 1.8 ZXi to Nxt model with new bumpers (bought 2nd hand at 2.5k) and also changed the interior door pads as in Nxt model. I got the full car painted and all necessary work done at Colour world at Vallapad, Trichur.
I have attached the old photo of exteriors and also the present. In the same the the interior door pads are also attached.

That was a nice looking Ikon. how much did it cost you for full car painting?
nash, man your car looks like a suv now. your car is protected but pedestrians and other traffic is in danger
this was done at a friends garage... i dont like the red part but i think the bumpers pretty ok.
