| Maruti F8B engine queries | Head & Trans swap, individual throttle bodies, camshafts
Hello BHPians, first time poster here.
I have a 2006 Maruti 800 AC with a 6 valve head and a 4 speed transmission.
I want to tune up this engine a little bit, but before I do that, I would like to know if it is possible to take the 12 valve head and the 5 speed transmission off of a Maruti DX and put it on to the F8B.
This would effectively transform this F8B into an F8D.
- I know I will have to source a new head, ECU, and transmission, among other bits and pieces, but is there anything special I need to do this swap?
- Is anyone running modified camshafts/cams in their Maruti F8B/F8D engines? if so, could you please tell me where you purchased/reground them?
- I would like some feedback regarding the use of ITBS in small volume engines (1L>)
If given the proper supporting modifications such as camshafts and a proper tune, is this viable for making power with such a small displacement?
