Paint protection

I have had three cars uo till now.My car runs in very very heavy conjested area.So I have many scatches.But in my newest car Indica Xeta GLS, my dealer asked me id they would put a coat on the paint so that there are no minor scratches even if it runs in heavy trffic.This is very usefull.I have recieved the car and it is days uptill now.But a question. In my other cars the paint looses its shine after -6-8 MONTHS AND IT LOOKS LIKE A OLD CAR.I donot want this to happen with my new car.What should I do to prevent loss of shine.And also tell if the scratch prventing coat is really usefull or a ....

Use Teflon coating which will keep the shine which should cost around 2-3K.

I think the paint coat his dealer is mentioning is the teflon coating.
