Hey guys,

Was just thinking how good an idea it would be if I get my lancer fitted with reclinable recaro/sparco look alikes. How confortable would they be and how much would they cost? If I change my car in say 6 months will I be able to refit these seats into my new car?

Does anybody know where I can source these seats in Chennai?

Cheers:)

I dont have one in my car, but have sat in blueraven's zen which has the recaro's and was pretty comfortable(@least better than the OE seats).

My friend has bght a set(recaro) for his baleno and it costed him 18k.

Now did you say look-a-likes? Wonder if the same finish could be obtained.

The racing seats which are a replica of Sparco / Recaro cost around 11k upwards for a pair. You can also fit them onto your next new car.

I have sat in a fellow chennai member's Palio which had these seats and i feel the seat cushion was slightly hard. Could be a wee bit uncomfortable during long drives and one important thing to note is that the height of the seats makes the rear visibility (from the inside rear view mirror) difficult.

If you want to buy them they can be sourced from Dreams Auto located in T-nagar diagonally opposite to the Peninsula Hotel. The shop is owned by Jesudas. I dont have his number though.

Hi red,
The reacaros and the lookalikes are pretty unconfortable when compared to the OE seats. There is no doubt on that, but thats the case with all sports seats. But they sure grip you tight along the corners. And yeah, the looks..

The palio that Aditya was mentioning is in fact mine. I'm planning to go in for a new set in red or a custom made one from Koyas. Do let me know if you are interested in getting a used set of blue reacaro lookalikes.

Check out post 36 in the below thread for the snap

I wonder why you say they're uncomfortable. All the seats I've sat in so far are very comfortable, more so than the stock seats of most of the cars in question.

Well Akshay, you can sit in ahmed's car and feel it for yourself. lol: (assuming both of you are present for the trackday)

I find the sports seats pretty comfortable to sit in, its not that bad, i would say its equally comfortable as a stock seat. You can remove and refit them in your next car too. Costing varies between 16k-18k with sliding frame and installation.

Hi, you can get replica Recaro seats from 'SpeedWorks', on Nungambakkam High Road, just before Khader Nawaz Khan Road. I guess a pair should set you back by about 15K. I've got them fitted in my Alto, been almost a year now, you can find a picture of them at Street Racing MotorHeader - Street Racing in India - Vikram Sunderraj, Race cars, Performance Mods, Performance Gauges, Exhaust, xbox 360, playstation 3, Engine Tuners, Indian Cars, Cars in India, Used Cars, Car Blogs, Racing Blogs, Performance Cars. They seem comfortable, hug you nicely in the corners. The seats are rather tall, so you'll need to sort out seat-belt mounts & stuff carefully.

Hi, you could try 'SpeedWorks', on Nungambakkam High Road, & just before Khader Nawaz Khan Road. A pair should set you back by around 15K. I've got them fitted in my Alto & they're great. However, they're a lot taller than your stock seats, hence rear visibility could be impaired. You might have to carry out the fitting yourself, & also, you might need to raise your seat-belt B-pillar mounts.

I think blueraven has look alikes & they are pretty good too. :)

Ooh yes John, they even have that bling effect.

I'm eyeing one of the non-reclining racing seats, FIA and MAI approved. Anyone wanna buy one more, maybe we can get some small discount?
