Hyundai Getz Roof Rails

I discovered an image of the Getz 'Cross'... I'd never heard of it 😮.

I have decided to modify a pair of Peugeot bars and give them a try, we will see how they work out.

They appear to be made with ends 'pressed in'... So cutting/re forming might be fairly straightforward >> here's hoping 🙄

Re: Hyundai Getz Roof Rails

The 'rail' is made up of a bar + 2 ends.

I believe some cutting and fitting 'base plates' (larger than the actual rail end pieces) to allow the 3M Body tape to hold them down will make a simple installation..

Re: Hyundai Getz Roof Rails

I have 'extracted images' from YouTube postings, modifying Getz for Motorsport.... These have given me a clue as to where the 'internal roof braces' are located.
My original plan was to work with the Roof Rails BUT not having to drill/cut into my car 🙄.

I think now I'm happy to make a mark (to suit a tightening stud), drill through the roof and make a corresponding 'pie-cutter' hole upwards, in the headlining/board >> I would insert a soft form gromit into the holes, after tightening the stud + load spreader washer 👍

More to follow (.... in the summertime as it's Winter here, just now ⛷️).
