Rear engined, twin cam engine Maruti 800. Check out the video.

I stumbled upon this video. Caption says 170bhp. The head looks like a twin cam 1300. Engine is rear mounted and certainly one of the best looking 800s I have ever seen. And look at it standing among the beasts like 911, imprezzas and the other lot.

Edit: Found the making of the car video. Here it goes.

I had just posted 1 video in a thread that seems to have not gotten the attention it deserves. Anyways, such builds deserve separate threads IMO. Steer, its neither signs of old age, and definitely not signs of unemployment.

The site says Suzuki 1.6 ?

After all that trouble only a 1.3 twin cam would be in justice.

Could anyone find the timings it pulls at?

The G16's never came with DOHC IIRC. It was a know trend abroad to use the G16 bottom halves with the 1300 twin cam heads. These heads are supposed to flow better and have better efficiency or something to that extent. Twin cam heads also came on the G18, J18 & J20's. Though I am not quite sure if any of these would fit on a 1.6L block.

Its tough to imagine that they got a 1.6L to churn out 170bhp. And at the bottom of the page it says Super Street 14 secs. So I am expecting the 1/4 mile to be 14 secs.

a m800 doesnt deserve all this. Its underpowered 796cc engine is what its chasis and other parts are meant for.

And how do you come to that conclusion?
