Xeon and Air filter options for a 99 Zen

I'm a newbie so excuse if I've not done enough to look up for info before starting a new thread. I'd like some info on the air filter options available for a 99 Zen (Carb and not MPFI). Also, is it a good option to switch to Xeon bulbs from the stock ones? What's the life of these bulb like and can I have a few brands I should be looking for? Appreciate the help.

you have the option of fiiting a k&n filter.lot of threads on the forum to help you with procuing them and finding shops to install them.it is definitely a good option to switch to xenon bulbs but honestly, they really work to well with the zens headlight assembly since they are not clear glass and hence diffraction of light is more.the various brands available are bosch, philips etc.

If you go for a complete HID set then it comes iwth its Ballasts and xenon bulbs, no dont need to put anything other than that.

But if you just want higher wattage bulbs then you will have to upgrade your holders and wiring also. the Standard wiring cannot support the higher wattage bulbs.

If you go for an aftermarket bulbs of the same wattage but which claims to have better lighting then there is no need to change anything other than the bulbs itself.

For a 100/90 watts, halogen bulb you need not upgrad your holder. You need to add a relay to the wiring. Some even go up to 130/100 without holder change. IMHO 100/90 is more than good enough for some night driving.

You can get the Philips 100/90 halogen and a good relay. Cost is approx 1000 - 1200 bucks(quite and old quote). I would let other comment for the latest prices in mumbai.
