My Zen is now 7.5 years old and has done 50k kms.
My car's driver seat is getting deeper and deeper with time now. The cushion seems to have totally gone and I'm feeling the springs underneath my bottom while passing through every bad patch on the road..:Frustrati
Rest of the seats in the car are pefect as they are rarely used.
What could be the best possible way to solve this issue?
Should i change the complete seat assembly?
Will adding cushion to the existing seat be a good idea? I doubt it as it will raise the hieght of the seats too much...
Regards
kp, i'm facing a similar situation in my 6 yr old 99K Indica....the local guy suggested using foam and i did that, but of no use....seat tend to get deformed as the foam is not stable.
i think i'll go for changing the entire seat.
The seats would be having springs inside them. The seat is becoming saggy as the springs lose their tension. It should be possible to replace the springs and get a new foam lining which will bring back the firmness.

Hey KP that's what you call a proper 'bucket' seat :D
sankar, any idea how much does it cost? and where to get it done from?
That's the seats way of telling you two to lose some weight :p
I think re-upholstering the seat & replacing the foam will do the job, provided that it is done in a good place.
panky, your upholstery guy would be able to do it for you.
Chuck those seats and get your self recaro/sparco look-a-likes Prajesh.
A cheaper way for you would be to eat two paranthas less everyday for next 6 months...The seat will automatically recover..:)

If you want OE stuff then, zen has zig zag springs linked to clips that run around, check if these clip points are fine, if not a simple weld job will fix it. then see if these springs are ok, if not replace them and then move on to OE foams, buy them and replace the old one. This will be the best fix rather than going for stuffing and all.
If you want to upgrade go to a good apholstory guy and upgrade to leather upgrade, they will take care of the stuffin part also
The other option is to ask furniture fixtures wala to give you some good quality foam to paste on the existance seat and cover with the new seat covers. Silly idea

The look-a-likes cost roughly about 16k a pair. PM
blueraven316 should be able to help you source them.

OMG...!!!
I'll find some cheaper jugaad. I dont think its wise enough to spend so much on a 7.5 year old zen.
My mechanic has told me that i can swap the front seats.
Riju..I'm still waiting for the Baleno seats pics.:)
