Suspension upgrade for an Ikon

I have an Ikon 1.3.. been using it for 3+ years... engine is all smooth
but ive realized the comfort has gone really hard...
the car gives me the thuds when im in potholes

What can be done to get the car back to the soft ride...

im guessin the suspension needs some changes.. but any other ideas..

Why don't you try getting Koni Shocks?

Ikon's Shock are always known to be hard and stiff compared to many cars...

I see not much use if you are replacing them with stock ford shocks again!

Ikon's shocks are really stiff, and they appear to get worn out pretty soon depending on usage! The sounds are really irritating I agree. Sadly I don't think Koni's are available for Ikon.

On the other hand, if you want the car to get back its soft ride you'd have to do a complete shocker overhaul with Ford OEM shockers itself.

IMHO Ikon has a very robust suspension which provides good balance for ride comfort and handling ..Just get the shocks replaced with a new set of shocks.

How many kms has your car done?

What tyres are you running on. Cos changing your shocks isn't going to dampen your ride.

Ikons are direct and therein lies their beauty.

KOnis are not available for the ikons. I spoke to the product manager in Methods according to him importing konis for ikons doesnt make business sense as the numbers arent much. but they are looking at possible matches for the ikon and they might soon have some options.. in UK, there are konis available for Fiesta MK5 which is our ikon. So there is some hope. Similarly spoke to a dealer of hotbits in india, even they are not willing to import any thing for Ikon but they would be interested if there is a minimum 30 orders??
The original ikon springs are pretty stiff, but once you change them, they go bust once in 2 years. likewise all other ikon parts. Spare part quality is seriously lacking with ford in india and i have brought to FORD indias notice many times.
The best option change the struts and mounts (OE)and the bushes.Keep the original springs. Most often, its the struts which are weak.
