Need Help! Problem after changing to K&N stock filter in Swift ZXi

Hi all Gurus,

Yesterday I changed the Air filter in my 1 yr, 11000 Km old Swift Zxi to stock K&N filter. At first I was quiet happy with even the slightest of indication of better torque. But after some time I noticed the warning light for the emission Control Unit in the dashboard was continuously on even while running. I read from the manual that the warning light continuously being on might be a problem.

I am confused now. I changed the K&N filter back to the OEM filter. Still the light glows continuously. Please Help!!

Yes check the air flow sensor on the air box. It might be loose. After that if the check engine light remains on, reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it back again.

air map sensor error, and you might require to take the car to dealer if resetting doesn help to remove the error code.

Problem solved!

Thanks guys,

I checked and cleaned the sensor in the filter box. just tightened the connections a bit. I replaced the K&N filter. Now the light is not glowing. The guy who fit the filter also had not placed the filter properly.

Anyways thanks much guys for the help. The problem is solved now.

I had also put new sunfilm on the wind screen(Lumar Air 75). This has developed bubbles so I have to go back to the dealer anyways, I will tell him about this.
