i have a few more questions:Frustrati

bov can be used in diesel engines like the swift Vdi ? cause i heard the turbos used in
Swift Diesels has a built in bypass valve that relieves pressure. Instead of venting to atmosphere, which makes the big whistle sound, it vents back into the impeller...which helps keep it spinning...reducing turbo lag.
It still makes a whistle sound because it is venting from high pressure to lower pressure, but it is contained within the turbo so the whistle is not as pronounced

so? cant BOV be installed ? :Frustrati
i need to hear the Hissszzz soo bably

The DDis technology, uses, 5 injections during the power stroke .The amount of fuel, sprayed into the cylinder, in each injection, increases from the first injection, reaches a maximum and then decreases to the last injection. This type of controlled linearly varying combustion makes the DDis engine so refined, unlike the normal turbo diesel engines, in which there is only one injection per power stroke.

yada i was not talking about the boom boom sound of the car and yes FFE and be fixed on a diesel car and it makes a hell of a noise and sounds like a bass tubelol: ( i heard it on a fiesta diesel just after the ffe was installed)

i was talking about the hiss sound! the sound is similar to the plane noise ( best example would be CEDIA DAMN!! that babe makes a hell off a sweet noise when rev'd down)

it can read the other thread about turbo confusion.

Forge Motorsport

that company makes a bov for diesel cars

Yes iceman, we had made a free flow exhaust for a swift diesel.

thats a first. never heard of ffe for diesel..what calculations or size did you use???

@Nikhil - Did you just make an end can or the complete set including the exhaust manifold? Also if you really made the exhaust manifold for a turbo diesel I would love to see some pics of it.

@Team Godspeed - One thing you can try if you really want the BOV sound are BOV sound emulators. These are devices that when connected to any car will make it sound like it is turbo charged. They are elecrically operated though.

Something like this

Fake Blow Off Valve Turbo Sound Whistler BOV Exhaust - eBay Turbos, Superchargers, Performance Parts, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 10-Jun-08 12:00:00 AEST)

There are couple of things you can try, One is get a universal Air filter , And if not A free flow exhaust than at least a end can that will give you some good sound at, high rpm thou. You wont get the BOV hiss but the turbo whistle..you should be able to put the BOV thou in the plumbing, but that will need A little R&D....

No, the cat con and the end can is replaced with a straight pipe. the car also has a K&N conical filter. Basically, we tried everything possible to get some sound from the car, but no results!!! But then there i a lot of difference in power. Ill try and get the pics..

NIkhil v12 a FFE in a diesel car, love to see pics and sound. especially since its a diesel car

Waiting for pics. Any dyno chart for the performance improvement. And what changes were made to the fuel pump's calibration.

Dyno chart? fuel pump calibration? :Shockked:

Sir, it was a mere attempt to get some sound from the car, my friend was more into sound than performance!!

well I seriously hope nothin has happened to the engine.
ffe for a diesel car is a very very complex mod. even some of the best tuners have steered away from it.
Hence my queries and vikram's concern

No. We have not touched the header. i read somewhere that, the headers of turbo diesel cars are very complex, so didnt do anything to it...

even the cat and the end can do make a difference. header would not be from the head since its a turbo car. my suggestion get back to stock and get the car checked asap.

Hey free flow is being done on diesel cars with no problemo but i actually got two see two cars with it one is a fiesta and the other one is a palio

@Team Godspeed - Dude like Iceman91 has already pointed out FFE's on diesels are extremely complex and not that easily done. Can you get more details on the cars that you have mentioned. Do they include the header or only the end can?

If it is only the end can then it is not an FFE acccording to me. An end can is easily done but the headers to deliver actual performance need the fuel pump to be re-calibrated. And this, at least in India costs a bomb.

Bosch is one company capable of doing this in India but they dont do it for the end consumer. They only do it the car manufacturers.
