LPG Conversion woes in WagonR

Hi All,
I have a WagonR Lxi 2005 model coverted to LPG using Lovota LPG kit after 1.5 years, spent Rs.20000 including RTO endorsment.
From the day one till now,i have been getting only 7-8 Kms/lt of LPG in City with 100% AC and 12Kms/lt in highway.
Before a year the LPG rate is only Rs.26.But the current rate is Rs.37.20
So i am spending Rs.5.20/km using LPG.It's little higher than Petrol.
I have tuned a lot of times and tried Closed loop system too.
I asked my installer and he promised to convert into Sequential Kit for free.
But now he asked me Rs.17,000 for ECM only.remaining (injectors etc)things are free for me.and he added that my car will definintely give some lower FE in petrol too.So he suggetsed to check FE in petrol using an instrument he has with 1 lt of petrol and LPG.i donno about the instrument. But morrow i'll be there in his workshop to check FE.
Before Conversion,i used to get more than 13Kms/lt of petrol with 100% AC and 18-21 Kms/lt in Highway.
I'll post the morrow happenings and planned to install Sequential Kit without giving a single penny to installer.
Hope i'll get it installed if the FE in petrol is good compare to LPG.
As my installer suggested,i changed the Engine Oil ,Spark plug and Air Filter.
I don't know the problem behind the lower FE.

DON'T GO FOR LPG .IT'LL KILL THE RIDE EXPERIENCE AS WELL AS THE BANK BALANCE .

Iam very much disappointed because of this dazed conversion.

You are right. As the LPG has become more dearer, it is better to run in Petrol than on LPG. My suggestion is better run on Petrol and take away the LPG kit and sell it off to the same guy/others. If the problem is solved for time being, tomorrow, if this problem crops up again, you need to do the whole exercise.

Finally the testing was Over.
My Car gave only 9.3 Km/lt of petrol in City with AC using the instrument with 1ltr of petrol.
So the LPG mileage might be between 7-8.
Plan to give it for Paid Service and ask service guys to tune engine for good FE.
Please suggest some good ideas to improve FE.

Best idea is to push ur car and go for a new one ASAP instead of with LPG.
At any point of time, the power on a LPG car will be very less when compared to petrol power or deadly diesel

I drove around in an Esteem with Lovato LPG kit for more than 4 years .I used to get FE of 12 with AC in City and got an average of 16 on highway with AC .There are somethings I learnt whole using LPG .When using LPG the air required is much less than is required while running on Petrol .My installer taped the air duct to reduce the air intake, thus giving optimum gas air mixture .But in this scenario it wont run smoothly on petrol .I used to drive around in LPG only since cost then was much lower in the range of 19-25 .
Another thing you can check out is that LPG also results in accumulation of WAX inside the vapourizer -cleaning that also improves FE as well as smoothness .

If you are going to the official Lovato dealers in chennai, you are going to the wrong place. Those are the worst nincompoops for LPG tuning. Find a good tuner & those problems can be resolved pretty easily. Where do you stay ?

Hi All,

Finally got 9.5kmpl with 100% AC in Chennai City using LPG
After a long R&D and repeated changes done in vaporizer and some other kits i never got 7-7.5 kmpl.
At last got a Vaporizer from Coimbatore meant for MPfi engines especially for WagonR.
They have changed/altered the tension of the spring and washers inside the vaporizer.
I changed to this vaporizer and added the lamda O2 Sensor last week and for 23.5 lts of LPG my car crossed 215 kms.
yet to test it in Highway and post the information too.
