Changing ignition system for gypsy - will it help fuel economy?

Greetings to all Team-BHPians

I want to change the contact breaker to distributor less ignition system of my 1998 model 1000 cc gypsy. I read it somewhere that it has improved the mileage by approx. 3 km/lt and considerably increased the performance.

Pls guide me whether it is possible to change and if yes what benefits I will get, what is the procedure for changing it and how much it will cost

Thanks & Regards

hey, Crazy4power, welcome to Tbhp.
converting an ignition system is not a small job, also CB to CDI is possible but getting an engine to run on distributor less ignition is a very tricky and expensive job, as it requires a computer and couple of sensors to control the ignition timing/distribution.
The benefits are clean burning of fuel every time and hence efficiency will be consistent, pick up will increase,no miss fires, etc.
